Aurille I totally agree the dye system in this game should be changed.  The worse thing about the perma dyes, they are akin to scratch off lottery tickets.  Back when I first started and had about $40 in my bank here, I snagged up a mess of dyes from the pearl store.  Buying blue dyes never gives you blue dye, instead you get some off mix with some blue in it.  The random number generator (RNG) seems to like using white a lot in that mix.  And I posted this thread about it "Fifty Shades of White...

Meanwhile I doubt they will ever allow us to create dye, since this would mean the end of the Value Pack (VP).  Obviously nobody buys it  for anything other than the merv pallette.  Right?

I placed orders for all the dyes I allowed into the central market (CM) once in a great while I do get one here or there.  They seem to arrive with new players who are buying them. This is also an issue as they only allow pure color to be bought and sold in the CM... I swore there must have been some other benefits to owning the VP, I guess not.  If you do dye outfits with mervs there are loyalty VPs for 2800 and sometimes they will show up in the CM.  Players who want fast silver will buy them on discount and sell them for silver.  But selling the pure dyes in the CM (assuming the RNG god favors you) is a better exchange for pearls to silver.

I guess that about covers it.  I really wish I could remember what those VPs are used for other than keeping my clothes looking pretty.  I guess that is not important, since Pearl Abyss feels it would be a trash item once they gave us the power to make dye.

Have fun!

Yes I agree with you.. buying permanen dys is terrible... as you said the blue dye box has greens.. the green has blue amd so on..

I had to goggle it to know which is which -.- (I bought few dyes on black friday)

As I said befor or someone else :D It would be great to buy at least the exact colour in pearl shop ..NOT random ones -.-

Merv's pallet and dyes shouldn't exist in the first place. As expensive as the cosmetics are in this game, you should be able to color them for free.

In FF14 you get almost all costumes in the game within the game itself that you sub for for $13/mo. and dying is free. In BDO you spend $33 for a costume and you have to spend an additional $15/mo. to dye it.

THAT IS STUPID AND OFFENSIVE

My idea would be to make the dyes using some of the rare drops as ingredients.  I  see dye could be woven into several lifeskills as well.  This would mean players would have to learn lifeskills, gather ingredients, maybe slay some monsters to make dyes.  In other words, players would have to start playing the game and having fun.

Pearl Abyss put too much emphasis on the belief that selling dye is going to make them wealthy.  As I stated, I haven't purchase dyes since I found out they were so random.  Until the system changes, I don't plan to buy much of anything else.  I know for a fact, what sells the best is when you make the game fun to play.   I may be an old woman today, but I was once a little girl.  That girl played with her doll house and dolls very often.  I even made clothes for them.  This game is an electronic virtual doll house.  I enjoy it, I believe my grand daughter enjoys it too.  Although she is a bit more agressive than I was at her age.

Have fun!

You can A : keep crying like 10 year old kids, B : accept the fact that this company sees you only as cows and go play something else like Pso2.

Long story short: PA saw the financial potential in terminating any other way to get dyes than paying for it. So they won't allow us to get it back, and certainly not by free meanings in the game.
