I would also like a profession to make dyes. I want to make my own painted clothes/armor to my liking without the need of VP. I support this idea.

And...

You people forget so easily?

You can A : keep crying like 10 year old kids, B : accept the fact that this company sees you only as cows and go play something else like Pso2.

I'll pass. I'm not interested in any way.

Long story short: PA saw the financial potential in terminating any other way to get dyes than paying for it. So they won't allow us to get it back, and certainly not by free meanings in the game.

If I'm not mistaken the SK version, and possibly others have a vendor in game that sales dyes. This vendor was removed by Kakao when they published the game in the US and dyes were placed in the pearl shop and loyalty tab.

That is not true. Dyes, also in other regions, can only be obtained via the pearl shop (and formerly the loyalty shop) (Of course not counting events or one-off quests).

However, it is correct that such a vendor once existed in the game, in 2014, in Korea, during the closed beta (https://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=118632&site=black). At the current time, it no longer exists. I cannot find any reference for it existing after the end of closed beta 2, so it might have just been a Beta testing addition.

A comment on the same article, on a different website (https://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=123705) however asks the question in early 2015 already, if that merchant still exists, as instead, there is now the PC Café NPC in that position (the PC Café NPC is indeed a KR only NPC, since PC Cafés there are very common and popular).

This leads me to conclude that the vendor is indeed something that only existed for a short time and was never added to the full game, even in KR, let alone other regions. This means, even KR only had the option of either buying dyes with loyalties or pearls, or using Merv's Palette.

Actually, the NA/EU regions had a better deal, as ours was the only region where Mervs Palette was included in the value pack, Pre-2020 (only with the equalisation of VPs across regions, other regions got that Mervs Palette as well, while we got the daily Loot Scroll they had instead).

So technically, we "Westerners" got more lucky in how easily we could dye our oufits.

So, if they really reading this... can we finally have some changes in the dye system?

-craftable dyes

-buy the exact colour from pearl ( not some random box)

-buy dyes from loyalty

And so on...

Helps me in the end. I save what dyes I have and use w/e old outfits I got.

If I had the option to freely dye things I'd probably get addicted to getting more outfits.

Hi,

I would like to have some other method to get dyes other than buying random dye box or buying value pack, which not everyone can afford...

It would be great to craft dyes using flowers and fruits.

Thanks

With the RGB coloring in place now I think there's room for a dye/cosmetic lifeskill while keeping Merv's in place.  The lifeskill would give access to the traditional palettes of dyes, but you'd still need Merv's for something more custom.

An interesting twist to make dyes expensive, so they don't flood the market, would be to require the processing of significant amounts of trash loot to make the dyes.  It would be a great silver sink.

They could also make it a long workshop process, 5 or 6 (or more) processing steps similar to making manos jewelry.  Call me crazy, but I really enjoyed setting up and maintaining the workshops and workers for manos jewelry, and they could make it so you have to reconfigure for different palettes or dyes.

Sorta set my imagination going, so I guess I'd have to say I love the idea.

Not having any in game dye is obviously just a money grab.

Personally I've never bought value packs directly and never even thought about buying a merv's, so I can't imagine it makes them thaaat much more money compared to the whales who buy outfits to list on the CM.

In my opinion they are shooting themselves in the foot not selling selectable dyes in the pearl shop, players would probably spend more money for perma dyes than players who currently spend on merv's/vp's (i for sure would spend way more).

Maybe even increase the CM price of dyes to make it profitable for whales to buy them and list them to f2p players. It would be nice to see dyes being listed as often as pets/outfits.

Our guru alchemists are capable of discerning the chemistry to create the most intricate of elixirs and alchemy stones. However, the knowledge of making dyes still evades them, it's the Holy Grail of the world of alchemy in Black Desert Online. #immersive #lore #realistic #/s
