Hello to everyone!
So, I have been expressing my deep loathing of what has been done to this game's soundtrack on April 13, 2022. May others have expressed similar sentiments as well. But there has been no word from the Devs or GMs on the official Musical Dilemma thread, or on any other posting. So, perhaps the community at large is fine with this current state of affairs. Perhaps I am asking the Developers to do what most players do not want. So I ask: IS THERE ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT THE CURRENT RANDOM SOUNDTRACK? I can't think of anything EXCEPT: I have heard a few new songs I like. Otherwise, I am put through a hellish experience of hearing music played in unfitting circumstances. The argument that it creates variety is bunk: It's a loop of a few tracks that is repetative. I am sick of hearing the same tracks being repeated. And half the tracks do not fit the situation. So I ask: IS THERE ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT THE CURRENT RANDOM SOUNDTRACK?
Can we put it to a vote as to whether or not this has been a good thing?
Please, anyone who reads this, cast your vote: Either like this, the Musical dilemma thread, or respond to this or the Musical dilemma thread, or just by your silence, show PA that you don't care: at least you can't say anything GOOD about the change.
OR: Give this a thumbs down, or silence me by refuting the issues I have been bringing up for so long. Tell me how and why a random soundtrack is good for any RPG.

Yeah, and I'll put the issue in simpler terms: If there isn't anything good about an alteration to whatever you're doing, it would be best to undo said alteration!

BDO is all about RNG :-) Random guuuud!
But I would really like to set soundtrack myself with Marniwave while I do grinding. Unfortunatelly there are like 5 tracks in there and they are not very good.
They should let us choose from any of the tracks in the game, maybe even make a playlist. Also it would be great if we could choose from Music Album (u know, tracks made by players to be performed by shais).

Thanks for the reply! However, if BDO is all about things being random, let's make ALL DROPS be random!!! While we're at it, let's make ALL MONSTERS spawn in at random. Trolls at the Saunil Camp! Cadrys at the Naga Temple! Turos in the Crypt of Resting Thoughts!
When you apply too much randomness, nothing makes sense anymore. Might as well have it be some arena game where all you do is fight. Music is important. It creates an environment that SHOULD fit the area or situation that it is being applied to. Random music fails this.
The system is broke, yo!
Or, is what I just said complete hogwash?

Agreed, it is fitting for an RNG game LOL
But as an RPG? Absolutely not. Wish they went back and undo'd their RNG music nonsense. They have great musicians, shame their talent went to waste because everyone just mutes the game after a while of being bothered by the RNG.
They have Marni's music player thing. Why not expand this? Let players select any track from the game if they want, shuffle it at random or set it to what the game expects like pre-2022? Seems like a big win if they did that.

and so on and so on.... It's pretty obvious what people want. They like the music in the game but heavily dislike the RNG aspect of it.

I know the Devs are taking steps to act on our feedback. I wish us all luck in our endeavors.
Everyone is working for the greater good! I just hope what I want conforms with that!

that was one of the most stupid implementation I've seen in this game ..
You go attoraxion you don't have boss music on the boss anymore, it may randomly spawn anywhere though ...
You're at sea* fighting a goldmont small or medium ship ... Boss music ... where has the naval fiight music gone ? who knows
Old music (before Everfrost update) Were thought for a specific area ... taking them from those area break immersion like nothing else
Edit: I'll also add to that, that the music Volume Balance has been completly Broken ... For example Olvia Bgm is particularly Loud, and you can barely hear one of the Sailing bgm or the Everfrost Fighting Bgm (while parameters are being the same !!)
