As it is now, Target Chase has a 20 second cooldown, and a 20 second duration. So theoretically it has 100% uptime, except for the VERY annoying fact that we have to refresh it every 20 seconds. When this buff expires mid-combo, or while chasing a target (!), we have to interrupt what we're doing to refresh this buff, or else we drain all our stamina sprinting at a snails pace! It seems silly that the design of the Target Chase buff actually inhibits our ability to chase targets! (Having this buff up at all times is practically required for these classes to be playable at all, since we cannot afford to spend stamina on sprinting).

For an awakening kunoichi, a class whose playstyle is supposed to be akin to dancing (at least according to the lore), this interruption is completely at odds with the flow of the class. Of course having played awakening kunoichi as my only main since its release (one-trick here), this is of course something I've gotten used to, and indeed refreshing this buff every 20 seconds is something burned into my muscle memory. But there is absolutely no good reason for it to be like this.

My suggestion is that Target Chase be changed to a passive skill. This will not have any significant effect on the balance of ninja/kunoichi, since it already has theoretically 100% uptime, but it will be a much-welcomed quality of life improvement.

Other classes have received similar QoL improvements recently. As an example, Tamer's Legendary Beast Dance: Resonance buff had its duration increased to 1 hour.

Please consider this suggestion seriously.

Bump.

It's also worth mentioning the reason why I suggested making this skill a passive rather than increasing the duration/cd. That is because, it's also very easy to accidentally animation cancel Target Chase - putting the skill on cooldown but not applying the buff, leaving you basically disabled for 20 seconds. It can even be cancelled by kunoichi's Q block (at least in awakening), and since Target Chase is activated by S+Q, you can imagine how easy it is for this to happen.

An alternative to making it a passive (should people wish to be able to sprint normally sometimes in combat stance for whatever reason), is making it a toggle skill.

Any input, be it disagreements or agreements, are welcome.

I activate the skill from hotbar, its never canseled and almost no delay with shift pressed constantly.

Yeah that's a decent workaround, if you have space on the hotbar for that!

Nevertheless, this small change could save us all hotbar space and also cut down on button presses which really amount to nothing more than "clutter".

As a Ninja player of many years myself i 100% agree with this suggestion and can confidently say that this change would not result in any "unfair advantage" or "buff" whatsoever and would be VERY welcomed by both classes - Ninjas use this skill almost exclusively from hotbar, and especially with recent changes the amount of skills awakening Ninjas need to hotbar to play their class at 100% efficiency and potential is absolutely enormous, having a slot freed up by having target chase turned into a passive would be an AMAZING quality of life change.

PLEASE consider implementing this.

Bump .-.

Don't think I'm asking for much here, just a lil QoL :>

But obviously begging for a full class rework requiring months of development time would get a post more attention x)

The only time i animation cancel TC is when i try to pop it as soon as i load in.

Ninja Hotbar space is sort of irrelevant because you dont really need to actually activate it IN combat, because well.... ninja.

And making it a passive will absolutely lead to people crying about ninja (again).

I simultanuously believe that it will be non impactful and overpowered. 😂

There's nothing overpowered about it haha.

I cancel it on kuno by accident a lot more than I would like, with Q block in awakening stance. Usually this is in PvE when im trying to move between packs. And hotbar space is definitely not irrelevant...

Sorry but "I'm scared of people saying my class is OP for no reason" isn't a very good argument against a QoL change lol.

Your not wrong but this is just a small problem, I would rather us focus our voices on more annoying balance issues.

It is small yes, doesn't mean it should be ignored indefinitely though ^^ I don't think its beyond the devs' capability to multitask a bit.

That being said, after the most recent patch killed off delighted blast, i'm inclined to agree with you! Undoing that should take priority XD
