As someone who grinds a lot for income, I am against this. Though, I must commend you -- it is clear that you took your time to write this and thought it through. I appreciate that.

Why I am against this is purely because it puts too much regulation on players choice of actions. The thing about bdo I like so much is the sandbox aspect, and this sandbox aspect implies a certain amount of freedom. I see this marking of rotations as occupied or not, then having to press a dfs button and find the other person, who could be playing hide and seek, sounds too extreme. Just like a fully fledged PvE server seems too extreme.

I think the solution to Karmabombing and reckless PK is simple, not complex or complicated at all.

To prevent or dissuade against Karmabombing (the act of purposefully negatively affecting someone else's gameplay with the intent of coersing them into flagging for pvp and reducing karma) = scaling respawn timer, scaling with the amount of deaths to the same player within a certain amount of time. If player 1 gets killed over and over by player 2, player 1 will experience a respawn timer that gets longer with each death to player 2. Only way to ressurect instantly is to use an Elions Tear or Blessing to swap server when at the death screen. This will prevent players from removing gear and die repeatedly to the same player.

To prevent reckless PK = one PK is instant red status in non grind zones. This way, lifeskillers can rest assured those that PK them when they aren't geared for combat get the proper punishment -- kill an innocent, then be a bandit. In monster zones, karma should either remains is, or have some tweaks, but overall -- kill an innocent who is not grinding mobs is instant red. And if you decide to karmabomb, be ready to wait over an hour to respawn unless you Tear and swap server.

To me, it sounda fair for all sides. Players will have reduced KarmaBombers on them, KarmaBombers get to swap server quickly which solves the problem, and people who PK with impunity get proper consequences. No more "I have X karma, I can kill X number of AFK people before going red".

Dual for spot and karma bombing dont exist.

If you never alt+c, you never have to cry.

the only thing that exists is declaration of war against another guild.

Karmabombing is the act of purposefully negatively affecting someone else's gameplay with the intent of coersing them into flagging for pvp and reducing karma.

Often by body-throwing, AKA intentional feeding.

Often through acts in which they know will annoy the other person enough for them to flag out of frustration, which should be understandable.

And yes. It exists. Whether someone flags or not is irrelevant.

I didn't even bother reading it. Do you want to know why? Because PA absolutely doesn't care, PA want to sell toxicity.

PvE and PvP channels, no channels change cd, fast travel to any node. Problem solved.

Needlessly complex, and very open to exploitation.

Player 2 loses to player 1, player 2 logs in one of 50 free accounts that were given away, and spam DFS player 1, making player 1 unable to do anything for the next 2-12 hours.

Player 2 loses to player 1, player 2 calls his guildies to "DFS" his guildies just spam DFS on Player 1 playing you can't catch me, and then playign keep away with DP gear to waste as much time as possible.

Grind rotations vary by class, a Musa at Gahaz for example will have a massive rotation, while most other classes will have a tighter rotation.  This leaves PA to try and setup many many grind zones inside a single node, which is a waste of time and resources better spent elsewhere.

----------------------------------------------

It would be better to add Tiered PvP death penalties.  Make the Karma Bombers incur penalties, and allow the people grinding to be able to defend.  First few deaths free, after which you have to pay with XP or release to town, if XP isn't available Crystal/Gear Downgrade (with warning) after enough have to release to a different region.

OR

Implement Nodewar Death timers, with a decaying rate that are node specific say they reset after not dying for 30 minutes, with the option to always release to a capital city.

--------------------------------------

As for the Mob Feeding, there is a simple solution, if you have been engaged in PvP in the past 30 seconds mob deaths count as PvP deaths, Karma loss would instead of being tied to last hit would be tied to how much damage the player took before dying.

-------------------------------------

Lets not needlessly over think things.

I don't think I missed anything.  Maybe you can explain what you think I missed, that's what people normally do in a discussion when you feel something is missed, not just say "read it again".

Very biased post.  Here is my manifesto on so called karmabombing.

Karmabombing is a fictitious construct, fabricated by pk kiddies who can't handle a little karma loss. Since NO ONE can force ANYONE to flag, it's really Karmacide. Now for the obligatory PSA: Learn To Share (TM)!

If I am minding my own business, disrupting no one's rotation and I am ganked, I will pop rezz, chase them down and keep them flagged. They always leave. If that's "karmabombing," I care not. Nothing anyone can do about it.

I never infrige upon others' rotations.  I never remove gear, I fight to win and I stand my ground.  There is no body feeding.   I am called a karmabomber If I am in a location first, NOTHING can make me leave before I am ready to do so.

I never infrige upon others' rotations.  I never remove gear, I fight to win and I stand my ground.  There is no body feeding.   I am called a karmabomber If I am in a location first, NOTHING can make me leave before I am ready to do so.

And IMO, you're not Karmabombing in this instance, you're defending yourself and the spot you claimed, so IMO, that's actually honorable whereas actual KB'ing is dishonorable. I've had this happen on multiple occasions, primarily in Stars End:

1) I am peacefully grinding a solo rotation, not bothering a soul.

2) Out of nowhere comes a low geared person hitting mobs in the roto. They are low geared because they take forever to clear the mobs.

3) I approach them, cordially and say something along the lines of "Hey! I'm grinding this rotation, mind if I let you know when I'm done?"

4) I get completely ignored. Even when standing right next to them, clearly they can see the chat bubble, but yet 100% ignored. As if I don't exist.

5) They continue to hit mobs in this rotation, even when seeing me asking them politely to stop

6) Understandably, this causes unrest. I was there first and I'm trying to be nice, yet completely disrespected as a human being by being ignored as if I don't exist

7) What am I to do here? Leave? PK? Share? All those options impede in my gameplay negatively. Leave, then I give in to this act of selfish, perceivable, "bullying". Share, I get reduced income, EXP and chance for rare drop. PK, I lose Karma.

OFC, I know people will say to leave or share. Which, by the context of BDO, is not efficient nor recommended in SOLO grind spots like SE. So that's a flawed option. Leaving is also allowing this PvE griefer to grief. PK lowers Karma.

Mob feed and/or call red friends is the best option IMO. Problem is, mob-feeding is a last resort that is, I'm assuming, not by design. Not everyone has red friends on speed dail. So I fear for those who will likely go red because of the unrest caused by an instigator, risking expensive crystals and EXP in the process.
