If they still are breaking the composer that is tragic. Not sure why ruining the old library of songs is a good idea instead of adding brass or woodwinds or marimba or etc.

To whom it may concern,

Why has this happened again? we literally said DO NOT put these changes in place last time and yet here we are - I am sitting here questioning myself as to what the point is even making music in this game anymore if you guys just ignore everything we have ever said or asked for in the past and at the drop of a hat you can destroy years worth of time and effort people have put into injecting new content into this game - we arent some life skiller sitting there fishing - we literally take time out of our own lives to give back to YOUR community.

sick to death of this sh*t tbh

I cannot express into words how disappointed and mentally/emotionally draining this has been for me and the majority of this community. What makes this worse, is watching all of my friends slowly quit the game or have completely stopped music production due to these recent changes and are now moving on to other things/games. I love this game a lot and grateful we even have music on here in the first place. BDO has given us an amazing platform to express our creativity and ourselves, but it's disheartening to see what these changes have done to a growing community of artist/players. Moving forward, I believe PA should be more transparent, speak to it's communites and prepair us for such updates in the future.

The classic method of "improvement" from PA. Do it badly, then return it the way it was.

Please revert this faulty patch again,

Talk to your community and ask for feedback before putting foward changes that affect such a small community that keeps this feature of the game alive in spite of the lack of attention we receive year after year. I believe the majority of composers gave up on new content for the music album, and no longer expects you to fix old known bugs we managed to get around for years. We're only asking you to keep old songs intact and to find an alternative solution for the changes you insist on putting forward since last year.

I'm sure you have your reasons for doing this and we would like to hear you out instead of logging into the game one day and finding out that all of our music catalogue... years and crazy hours of work has been "fixed" with a new patch we knew nothing about. I no longer trust your approach to the music album and have no intention to continue investing my time and effort into making music/content for your game (let alone playing BDO or splurging into your products anymore), because imagine we fix some songs after your ninja patch, who's to say you won't revert the patch and mess up our songs again with no warning in a year or in a couple months from now? I don't trust you.

I'm not even asking for an apology or anything remotely close to that... Just talk to the community who is being affected here, and explain your reasoning for making changes that could potentially ruin their work (which you did twice), and ask for feedback. I don't know if these changes are coming straight from the Korean devs or something the EU/US branch is doing on their own, but someone should able to speak up and be more transparent here. This the 2nd time now, someone is not listening/communicating what the problem is, and you're inflicing additional damage to a community that already feels abandoned.

hi, im wizardoncrack.

while playing some music in town, i tho my audio had bugs.

after restarting a couple times, it was no bug.

at first i was kinda happy that the music got a "update".

after investigation of what changed, it was clear to me that this was a downgrade.

every songs in the album on the piano are now ruined. ensemble or not.

the velocity below 99 was "muted".

soo we, who are using it often to "mute" notes.

putting some emotions to a melody, by throwing in some 99 velo.

is now cancelled

the last 3 month ive been reworking some songs i composed.

all of these are now unworked.

it just make me feel soo bad. i didn't rework my songs util recently cause i was waiting

for "update" aka new instruments etc.

i gave up waiting 3 month ago since no update for 2-3 years

and reworked a lots of song and i used 99 velo soo much.

i was really trying to stay positif, talking to a few folks about it.

i started to think all the audio was "reworked"

everything sound soo weird, idk what they did to the music.

then i look at my 5 pages compositions and cry.

on a other view on thing i was trying to convince myself they pushed it to

bring a bigger update to the music.

and maybe add the mute notes as a technique but.

for the piano the muted notes on the velocity was definitely a advantage.

It gave us a lots of liberty compared to having it as a techniques.

which put all the notes on the same time, automaticaly as the technique you pick on one.

one guy told me this for trying to stay positif.

it's like they spit on you and you thank them for giving you water.

i couldnt help but agree.

plz at least do something for our old songs on piano before pushing something like this out.

can we get a revert on this. this completely killed my will to compose.

i loved the piano like it was.

Here we go again...

My opinion hasn't really changed on the subject all that much. I'm glad an attempt has been made to fix this issue, and if it is working as intended, I hope it remains fixed this time. The sad truth is that we simply don't know if the current fix is working as intended or not.

Relegating what is essentially a fundamental change to how the music system functions to a single line of text simply isn't good enough.

  • Fixed the issue where the intensity and volume of certain instruments were increased.

This tells us nothing about how the fix is supposed to work. Which instruments should and shouldn't be impacted? The jump in volume at each velocity breakpoint makes working with the drums almost impossible, and yet they remain unaltered after this patch. Is that intended, or not? That same jump in volume remains for the piano as well, once the Sustain Pedal technique is applied. In fact, Sustain as a whole appears to have been untouched by the patch in terms of volume and intensity, and seems to use the old velocity curve; which would suggest things aren't working as intended. We simply don't know if that's the case or not, and never will unless you tell us. This makes it incredibly difficult to defend a change I'm actually in favour of.

As others have pointed out, you aren't balancing classes here; every change you make in this manner will have potentially massive impact upon existing bodies of work. That's why people got upset last time, and you appear to have learned nothing from that experience. Instead, we got a marginally better fix than the previous one in exactly the same manner as before, blindsiding everyone involved, ruining many songs in the process while shattering what little faith anyone had left in you to provide the changes we do want. It really shouldn't be this difficult. You should have known this would be a controversial change after the last time and made even a modest effort to let us know in advance so we could provide you with feedback. Did this even make it to Global Labs, or was it just pushed Live like it was last time? None of us really pay attention to GLabs patch notes because of how infrequently changes are made to the music system, so it would have been nice to get a heads up from someone that we should go take a look if it did end up on the test servers.

To quote your own game; "Do it better." Nobody in the music community really knows what the hell to do with this change because you've already done this once and changed your mind a week later. The people who hate it aren't writing any new songs in the hopes it will get rolled back again; and those of us that like it don't want to do anything with our old songs in case it is.

I like the change. I might be the only one who does. But frankly, I'm getting tired of being the only person who stands up for you each time this happens, and being treated like a pariah when I do so.

You aren't making this easy for anyone, and we all deserve better.
