When you choose playing a MMO, you assume.
PA gave us a great bonus with this solo time in Marnis'! We can't ask for more, it's already a gift!
Sorry for those who don't like white dots on the map but I wonder then why ever start playing a MMO when you don't like it?

I'm sure you LOOOOOOOOOOVE when your grind gets interrupted by "dfs?" "why so toxic" "idc that you dfs'ed some1 else 5 min ago",
having 5 fps in NW / Siege or dc, please tell me all about it :)
BDO was, and still is, designed with a "wide open field" base-element to it when it comes to the grind content. Nearly everything we grind, mobs or lifeskills, are done in this "wide open field". only thing that is not are the instanced content like dungeons and RBF and AFK gameplay. This is what the devs have stated numerous times:
- Last Calpheon Ball (I think), they stated that BDO is designed as a "wide open field". You can rewatch it on YouTube.
- A GM said it here on the forum:
"By design, Black Desert aims to be enjoyed by multiple adventurers on a vast open field, which is why we consider the open field experience as one of the game's most essential features." https://www.naeu.playblackdesert.com/en-US/Forum/ForumTopic/Detail?_topicNo=26049&_page=5
- See this snippet from an old dev interview that's still relevant today:
"Black Desert is an open-world game designed to allow you go anywhere, and let’s you freely enjoy your choice in playstyle. However, the level of freedom goes up, it means other Adventurers are able to interfere in the adventures of others as you stated. But there are a variety of safeguards put in place that don’t compromise the fundamental freedoms of the game." So no, Marni's Realm was not developed for the reasons you stated. Marni's Realm, in itself, goes AGAINST the game's intended design. It was implemented because BDO tries to accomodate to everyone -- Marni's Realm guarantees one hour of instanced grind per day. This, IMO, is a good thing overall. It's a good middle ground that allows players to solo grind in peace while maintaining the game's CORE DESIGN of "open field" gameplay in the game-world. It has a negative effect of reducing the amount of players around, but it's neglible, IMO, being that Marni's is only for one hour a day.
BDO has been designed in an "open field" way since day 1, it's the kind of game it is. Bottom line.

I deal with it. I repeat: it's a MMO. And I chose to play this MMO.

Part of the game. You want to be there, they want it too and they may be ready to fight for it.
The only guaranteed peaceful grind is in Marni, and it's already huge.
At the same time, even though I was not really happy about Marni, it was in fact a good compromise between safe progress and owpvp. If we want an interesting owpvp, players need to be able to secure a safe grind sometimes to get a better gear.
Out of Marni, those interactions are possible and more likely to happen if you grind on popular spots. They make the world alive and the grind less boring.
