I dont do allot of sailing, purely because it take a week to sail anywhere, I can go to work come back and still havent reach my destination.

Please speed it up because its super boring! far too slow! Even with buffs and gear its still too slow.

Then you might want to consider upgrading that silly string raft you cruise around on and build something a bit bigger.

Use proper boat other than bartali sailboat and you will feel much better

I have carrack volante green +10, sailors for best speed, sailing master and ... I feel like I'm standing in place with 145% speed. I almost don't feel any difference between the current ship and epheria sailboat.

Many times I send the ship from Port Epheria to Velia and go to Velia on horseback. It's 2 or maybe 3 times faster.

So yes, sailing content is awful.

Yes with the wind on my back and 0 flow my ship almost flies in the air on Margoria, but then you have to go back upwind and flow.

So biggest problem = flow. You have almost 0 speed and you can't accelerate. They should be removed from game, especially that they prevent harpoon fishing which it requires fishboat and this boat simple can't move vs 20 and more flow.

That's nice.  Now, talking about gathering facts, perhaps you should look up the physics of sailing and you might understand why they are mimicked the way they are in a game. Here is something to get you started:  v_w = v_b + v_r. Or maybe look up Newton's 1st and 2nd laws, maybe even Bernoulli effect for some added fun.  Enjoy your sailing.  

Hey, better yet, tell PA to just let you defy all laws of nature.

I was waiting for the first "physicists", so I recommend you to read about tacking - swimming against the wind. 

Second: maybe if you don't know but  it does not matter whether you are upwind or downwind becuase the sail acts like the wing of an airplane, so even if you are sailing against the wind the wind still produces the "pushing force" based on the effect of negative pressure in accordance with the laws of aerodynamics.

And in this game, sailing has nothing to do with reality and is just way too slow. Period.

So no mastery gear, hmm, wonder why you're slow.
