The sailing speed in this game is fine. IDK what you guys want by making it faster these aren't race cars or jet boats here. Making them any faster would just feel silly. With my Carrack and all +10 blue gear I can sail from Velia to Port ratt in 10 mins. You can call that slow if you want but going from Kama to valencia by horse takes the exact same amount of time. So idk really what you guys expect TBH?

Sea content is AIDS. The slownest isn't helping it either.
Yeah high end ships with gear and skills are fast enough, just like horses, but entry level ones aren't hence people just ignore the whole system.

That's nice. Now, talking about gathering facts, perhaps you should look up the physics of sailing and you might understand why they are mimicked the way they are in a game. Here is something to get you started: vw = vb + vr. Or maybe look up Newton's 1st and 2nd laws, maybe even Bernoulli effect for some added fun. Enjoy your sailing.

Real life physics means nothing in a video game where you are using magic, fighting dragons, being able to come back alive after death, etc. Trying to apply real life laws and rules to video game is just plain silly at best and purely dumb at worse.
That said, sailing is still slow. It could improve in overall speed. There is no need to be traveling so slow in a video game. This bored fascism is getting old.

Fyi that whole real life physic thing is most likely just memeing around lmao
They can't improve sailing speed more than it is i believe just because if they do, bartering can be done so much faster which means clearing 3 barter list would take so short of time.
Now whats the bad side if that happen? PA who always encourage land dwellers for stars end open world pvp cancer will see people going ocean more cos of the high profit in short time would bring more people to ocean where there isn't any artificially limited resources to fight

Doesn't change fact that ocean content is pretty popular which can be easily witnessed by anyone going at sea and keeping an eye on rankings regularly growing.
Besides, you seem to rather overlook the crowding issue since there are usually way more than 5 ships in Velia vicinity despite the despawn timer near wharf.

Not overlooking anything just saying that many of the wharves need very few ships to be crowded.
