i am artisan 9 sailing with +10 gear carrack and TET lifeskill accessories and i completely agree with him, do you have any arguments other that personal attacks??? clearly not.
Personal attack? You're a disgrace for whoever powerleveled you to artisan 9. Im simply stating a fact he is beginner 6. If you really sail you should know what beginner 6 means to ship speed
Also stop blowing hot air. You're only artisan 5. Youre an afk barterer who probably doesnt even reach 160 speed
Also +10 what? Green advance with trash innocents and no crystal? Tet loggia?
If u wanna compare with ur horse instant accel or faster, keep dreaming. Your map doesn't even render properly on others screen when you use horses. How do you expect ocean interaction between player to happen when on land you can't even see a horse approaching you with their speed

if you think boats are slow, you are doing something wrong, or your perspective of speed is wrong.
either way, sailing speed is very fast, go grind up a nol if you still think it's slow, 180% with nol let you move from epheria to iliya under 5mins.

Real life physics means nothing in a video game where you are using magic, fighting dragons, being able to come back alive after death, etc. Trying to apply real life laws and rules to video game is just plain silly at best and purely dumb at worse.
That said, sailing is still slow. It could improve in overall speed. There is no need to be traveling so slow in a video game. This bored fascism is getting old.

Without those said physics there would not be any game animations at all. True that BDO isn't the most realistic-looking game, but everything was supposed to have a rich detail. And from this the conclusion is to immerse yourself in the game. Keep the sailing speed as it is and learn how to sail. It's not 100% perfect, because there could still be slight adjustments. But it gets you the idea of how sailing in real life is done.

to the OP:
complete the Oquilla's eye discovery questline for an adequate skilled 1 sailing level, with this you can use the breezysail skill and boost with a boat.
additional skills are aquired when leveling up the sailing lifeskill.

Do the quest line for skilled sailing, use breezy sail, put on music from pirates of the caribbean and enjoy!
I'm using improved epheria sailboat with crap gear and I think sailing speed is just fine as it is.
You expect to roll around in a game set in a world with swords and magic as if you had a couple 1200 Horsepower engines on your ship?
Even if it's fantasy, how many books or movies set in a simillar kind of world have you had the characters use magic or super engines on their ships to make them fly over the water at 150km/h?
Sailing speed is fine as it is.
