At Calpheon Ball 2022 it was revealed that Port Ratt will be revamped entirely into Nampo Harbor. Which will basically remove Port Ratt as it is now and as well change the entire terrain around it.

Many players have sailed to Port Ratt, this mystical place on the other side of the ocean and done the quests there, which always seemed to be a teaser of what is to come once the Kingdom of Haso gets released for us to explore. Port Ratt is quite unique - a harbour town built onto terraces of cliffs surrounded by bamboo forests. It truly is an awe-inspiring piece of art of a location.
Everytime I traveled to Port Ratt I was imagining that one day I could walk through those gates, up the stairs und explore this interesting town, which has an almost shrine-like feel to it, but now it is to be removed and replaced by some other place not even closely resembling it. Please do your own creation justice and refrain from the revamp.

Nampo Harbor:

Port Ratt now:

After recovering the kite from below the sea (nice quest btw):

First time arriving at Port Ratt:

Enjoying the scenery:

Port Ratt has in my opinion so much more character than what we have seen so far from Nampo Harbor.
It'd be great if it could stay and have a place in the new expansion Land of the Morning Light.

I totally agree, my first feeling was disapointment when I saw that they simply deleted everything to re-write over it... I love the actual place!

Why are they focusing on things that do not matter to us??

My reaction was the same as yours. I was even hoping they'd expand Port Ratt a bit to extend further along both sides of the bay it is located in. Not to say that Nampo Harbor is ugly or something - it looks good but not instead of Port Ratt. It'd be fine as a harbour somewhere else and not as a replacement for Port Ratt.

Same for me. The old architecture is more beautiful and traditional than Nampo !

We want to keep Port Ratt :P

I've been so waiting for discovering what was behind each locked door of Port Ratt...

Now we'll never know!

PA, stop your nonsense plz, you're not pleasing your players here: you make features not asked, but still you didn't solve the Sol issue about Shaï, didn't solve the stealing of guild storage issue, you didn't solve all the sea contents issue, you didn't solve many bugs that are being asked to be corrected for long now on the forum...

You make UNWANTED feature instead of what should be done to please your players / customers!

Even worse now: you completely erase something we were curious about (Port Ratt) to make something flat instead that we should have discovered someplace else!

Let Port Ratt be!

And please start focusing a bit on what is really needed! Oh my god!

Agreed! I was really looking forward to the preview of the Haso region during the ball, and then they showed the new Nampo Harbor, which is nice, but it definitely should not be replacing Port Ratt. I sailed to Port Ratt for the first time months back as a new player, and it was well worth the trip :D, took tons of screenshots there, did all the quests available, and have anticipated the release of the continent ever since! Also seems strange to completely scrap an area that has been in the game for years, that tons of people have sailed to, in hopes of one day visiting the rest of the land around it, like a mini preview of what was to come. The old design was perfect and felt unique, compared to the new Nampo Harbor which has a similiar layout to most of the dock/wharf locations already in the game. The bamboo covered hills, with the over-arching buildings, and the waterfalls is a beautiful design! Really hope they decide to expand upon the already existing style of Port Ratt, instead of completely replacing and scrapping it :(.

Wanted to include 2 of my favorite screenshots when traveling to Port Ratt the first time as well!

Please keep original Port Ratt's style, its a Landmark location!

If there's any hope I can assume it would be this...

Port Ratt currently is very clearly a Chinese-themed place. East Asian culture is what we have been made to expect from the Kingdom of Haso and the surrounding land. My assumption has always been that there will be Chinese, Korean, and Japanese-themed regions. And I think most of us assumed that the Kingdom of Haso, arriving at Port Ratt, would be a Chinese-themed area. Now, it's Korean-themed.

My hope is that one day the unique architecture and style of Port Ratt will return one day in some renewed form when the Chinese-themed region is released. Perhaps that's something to look forward to. It's unfortunate that Port Ratt as we know it will disappear, probably forever, since the devs went in a different creative direction with the area... but I hope to see it return.

Agreed with all of the above.

Pretty sure they looked at what it would take to expand the current port vs just rebuilding, and ran into issues.  I hope?  But even if that were the case, they could still do something besides nuke the place.  Do some minor work there (open the gates / stairs, add a residence to two, open the few buildings with basic NPCs) and put the new stuff elsewhere, how hard could that be?

As for the content: the new trend in names - well, two new regions - almost regions, they are small - had simple names, but are being replaced by phrases / descrptions.  "Everforst" became "Mountain of Eternal Winter", "Haso" -> "Land of Morning Light" or some such. Ick.

PvE: First Everfrost goes mostly high end, and some areas are difficult to even enter.  Now Haso is zero-grind.  Or Boss only - for even higher end.  That's great - if you can do it.  For me it will be as if the gates are still locked.  And with Port Ratt and its aesthetic gone, less reason to be there.

Quests: Um - we'll see.  Will we be locked out of choices not made?  Have to replay with alts?  Well, there will be guides eventually.  But abandoning the basic theme of the game?  After Magnus already went its own way in other things?  It's starting to look like a patchwork.  Cohesive artistic vision is MIA.

Just seems like another lost opportunity.  Oh well.  I wonder how the life skills will work out there.  Everfrost at least got some good hunting. Or so I hear.

They should stick to their principles, and not change what they are.  NOTHING should change, ESPECIALLY land.  I was a bit miffed that they changed Cron castle, removing it's top level.    Places have identity.  You change the identity, the place no longer exists.  People love playing games that have identity.  Change that, you ruin the game.  PA messed with the soundtrack, only to the game's detriment.  They messed with visual details, to the game's detriment.  Now they want to change an entire location, and have different playstyle in Haso?  Not a fan of that.  Most of us play this game because the status quo suits us.  Mess with that, you mess with the reason we play this game,.  Mess with why we play, we will probably stop playing.  Be careful, PA!!!!

Please give us players a poll to see if we desire any big changes, and then go from there.  Thanks!
