From a lore perspective it would be fun and immersive to have alternative mount options (not just horses and not just Shai focused.)

We have a couple of options so far, including the camel for Valencia and little Shai llama.

From roaming the regions we know that other speciality mounts exist for NPCs but are not usuable. The Kamasylvians tame and mount Ferrina birds, we frequently see Ahibs riding  Kagtum. It would be great to make creatures like these an option for the classes. 

I would love to see mount variety! I think Black Desert is the only MMO with a small amount of mounts. You see hundreds of collectibles elsewhere meanwhile we're stuck with, realistically, just horses.

At the very minimum, a pearl shop item that changes your appearance to another mount would be great, obviously within the same size of a horse. This is something I see increasing activity as players try to get any new mounts as quickly as possible.

Yeah, I say they take a break from certain things, and focus awhile on creating new mounts, personally I would like a Marni styled mount made out of cogs, and metal, or wood, like those chickens in wooden mechs.

I wouldn't mind if they gave us the yaks and goats either, hell mammoths and dragons? Can we have water mounts maybe? There are so many cool things in this game and its a shame that we're pretty much regulated to a horse and a horse alone. ( Elephant is neat but niche, as are donkey and the little alpaca/camal) 

Donkey is probably nearly useless. Unless you play Shai, and even that...

Cool idea, I think the best part for me in BDO is its mounts. I haven't played any other game that made mounts feel special rather just transportation (which well most mounts in games do) but I feel BDO took it to the next level with the mount skills.
