I played this game when it first came out, can hardly remember anything. Have no idea what the new company has changed, haven't kept up on the info.

Does this game have your typical MMO end game where you find a guild and work on progressing thru content together?

Also I seem to recall once you got certain level of gear, it just became a tedious repetition of getting the same types of items to deconstruct or meld or whatever the BDO term for it was, I can't recall. Is that still what end game gearing is like?

There is no end game. My advice is just play the game and decide for yourself if you like it or not.

So you just keep leveling forever?

So you just keep leveling forever?

It's a long vicious cycle.

Grind,

Level,

Level gear,

Get to 700 gs realize it's not enough to fight End game players.

Grind,

Level gear..

Hit 312ap 423dp and get one comboed by a guy with 285 ap on a meta class.

Swap classes,

Grind some more,

Level,

Hit 745gs thinking your at end game to realize now you need to buy a 2nd and 3rd set of accessories for more accuracy and some for DP..

THEN you pretty much die in 3-4 hits while standing up too 2 or 3 classes..

Then you realize you should of rerolled to MUSA or Zerker and you would of never had to buy all that gear just to get storm trooper in NW with less than 700gs.

AFTER ALL OF THAT..

you finally make it to end game.. I'm personally 730gs.. then you read dec 23rd global lab patch notes to find out PA is nerfing ALL node wars to be gear capped except 8 nodes and those nodes only fight 3 days a week.

Basically shitting on all end game players.

So may I say end game has become a massive suck hole of a time sink that literally leads you to empty nothingness.

Thanks to these jackass developers that wasted 5 years of my life.

This is the best advice. Depending on from whom you ask about this game, you end up getting different answer.

Someone likes pvp. I know some people who only get better gear so they can do node war. Someone likes raising horses (like I do), someone prefers life skills in general. Someone just likes good stories and stories in general so they keep doing quests.

Ultimately, BDO is just a game. As such, I treat it as any game: a way to pass time. Thinking that they are anything more than that leads to dissapointment. It's a game that many people are passionate about, each with their own reason.

I was thinking about writing more on this subject but I leave with these keynotes (life hacks that also apply for videogames):

1. Define your own set of goals.

2. Don't let other people define your goals.

3. People can be wrong about things that they speak about. (Eg. Outdated guides)

4. Explore.

5. Have fun while learning.

6. Doing mistakes is OK.

7. Dont put all of your eggs in 1 basket.

This is very sad to read :'( sad because there's some truth here.

About the new node war caps, I guess we'll have to formulate the best builds for them and rework our gear, specifically for them.  Sucks because it invalidates our gear and effort gearing up.

About Zerk and Musa being OP I just LuL.  Funny because there's some truth there too.

All in all, though, I remain content in this game.  It's still cozy for me, even after 5+ years in.  I just wanna grind, set and achieve goals, see the world develop, and PvP when I can.  For meaningful PVP, for me, Street Fighter 6 is coming up soon and doesn't look like the same button mashing guessing game sh-- show SF5 was.  For MMO's, BDO is still number 1 in my book, but damn, it sure seems like the devs work backwards sometimes.  New node war caps, as evidence.  Complete bozo move.

BDO = Self set and achieve goals in a sandbox-setting.  Like lifeskilling?  Go lifeskill.  Carrack, dream horses, profit from high lifeskill mastery, chill gameplay.  Grinding?  Tons of spots.  Many key inputs.  Mastering a grind spot rotation.  PVP?  Tons of capped content now.  Everyone can participate in PvP.  You decide what to do and what you like, at any given time, based on what you like.  Formulate your own gameplay loop.

End of the day, it's an MMO, so yes, lots of grinding (doing the same thing over an over).  Sandbox means you choose how to play.

My typical day in BDO.  After work, I sell my fish.  Convert my energy to pots.  Grind an hour or two.  Complete the RBF daily.  On Sunday, I sometimes go with my guild to Garmoth / Vell.  I grind the most on Sunday since I'm off of work, GF and I do our own thing on Sundays, and I'm not typically tied down from other life-related things.  Do some RBF, and node war with the guild if there's a fight.  We GVG in between too, during the week and weekends, if there's beef going on, so I'll fight alongside them when I'm available.  Play other games in between while AFK fishing as well.

Sounds boring, but it's home.  Pros and cons to this game.  It's just cozy for me because it lets me do my own thing.  Other people's gameplay loop may be completely different from mine.

Ha You know how it is...
After all that we still keep going and trying not to be bitter.
these changes hare happening way to fast and forcing alliance's to shuffle to make these changes happen as allways we will adapt as well
