Do you even read my posts?

Yes most of them are well written and have good points.  Realisticly though this isn't something that is going to be fixed over night or possibly ever.  My post remains valid and does address this issue.

While it would be nice to address the FPS issue and put everyone on a more level playing field, that may take a considerable amount of time or never occur.  However!!!! The FPS does mainly pertain to it's advantages in PVP.  It still effects PVE as well, but to a lesser degree.

One solution to alleviate the FPS advantage is PVE servers in which someone running a much higher frame rate can't abuse you by pking or mob feeding with a distinct advantage over you.

In some cases this may be so bad that characters teleport, blip etc making PVP combat virutally impossible.  This would also allow users a better game experience by running the game at an optimal graphics settings so they can enjoy the scenery instead of worry about optimizing a frame rate.

There is a massive difference and depending on your class that differance is very noticable. When I use to play Nova I would always duel someone in my guild who also played Nova I run on remastered most of the time cause I can't be bothered to be a try hard and my guildmate would only play with potato runescape level graphics at 300+ FPS. I could almost never beat him because his skills would cast faster and hit harder despite being the same GS with the exact same gem build. He would just overall out perform what I could do with only 60 fps. Perfect example would always be when ever I threw out a grab I'd be in the middle of my grab animation while my guildmate was in the middle of different skill's animation but because of the FPS differance he could finish his skill than throw out his grab and manage to grab me before I could grab him every single time despite me being in mid grab skill animation before he even started his grab skill.

An that just Nova a class that only slightly benefits from having a higher FPS. Classes like ninja, warrior, caster are like completely different classes at 300+ FPS compared to 60 FPS. the shit they can do at 300+ FPS is game braking infact. It why every warrior, caster, and ninja you see playing on a compeititive level will only play with potato graphics.

Those classes aren't game breaking because of the FPS uncap, they're only functional because of the FPS uncap. Those classes will not perform well at all if they don't have that FPS. Their damage will be significantly less than every class in the game. This isn't because they can't combo, but because the damage dealt by abilities on those classes is determined by FPS. They also will not be able to move as well, or use their skills as effectively.

The reason why damage is determined by FPS is because some of these abilities with x4-x10-x8 hits at 1200% damage for example, calculate all of those hits in a very short amount of ticks, because the animation of the attack is so short. So at low FPS, a lot of your hits by default will not register at all, because there are very little frames to work with. You lose more than half of your damage on certain abilities.

You also do not see much returns from 300 FPS vs 144 FPS. The soft cap is around 144. You will see extremely diminishing returns past that point.

If you want to fix this issue it will be more than arduous. They would have to rewrite the entire game engine to make it so the game speed does not tie to FPS on the client. They will also have to completely rebalance and change how evasion, hit % damage, hit count, and accuracy rates are determined.

A lot of times I see people complain about a class, I tend to look at the dude playing the class in question and he'll probably sink a few thousand hours on the battle arena, non-stop PVPing and spending ages grinding to get good at the class. Then I look at the guy bitching and it's either a new player or someone who rerolls every seasonal rotation because they can't settle down on a class. There are some classes that will be better in duels. That's just how it is. Guardian is an easy to play class. Succ Valk is easy to play. Striker is easy to play. Succ Nova is an easy to play. Easy to play classes deserve to be easy to play against, because there is minimal effort into playing them.

Some of these ninjas have spent almost 4 years grinding that class, day in and out. Some of those warriors have spent almost 5 years grinding that class, day in and day out. Same wtih sorc. That alone is a big factor as to why they're so hard to fight.

there's a lot of issues with this post

1: you don't get "massive damage" for having higher fps. this only affects some skills

2: it doesn't scale linearly. you're not missing out from having 120 fps vs 300. this means most people with a half decent rig can reach the same playing field.

3:

  • Skills that normally have vulnerable frames (recovery animations) can be canceled at high fps, essentialy removing any intentional gaps the skills have.

skills generally retain the protection for the entire animation. you're not losing protection on your shit from it ending faster. you're actually being protected for longer.

Someone with 10 years old notebook shouldnt be able to PVP on same level as someone with 3k worth PC. Same as someone with 100hp car shouldnt be able to win drag race against 400hp.

Someone racing with 400hp cars inner city will get arrested. Same as exploiters should get banned.
