This is largely an "End Game" issue.

- When playing BDO the experience of "rewards" for "time invested" reaches greater and greater droughts. I personally LIKE this. It feels real. Like working on something for a long time, with care, and attention to details. To finally be at the place to event either flat out buy something or begin the crafting process is highly satisfying.

On the other hand "The Grind" aspect of literally killing monsters to be able to make the eventual crafting actions, requiring silver, and interactions with the Central Market... leaves much to be desired.

One of the things I have noticed in this is that there is a slow trend away from more enjoyable places like Star's End (again, because scenery helps keep "the mood") and BDO fails to understand this despite many years of our trying to inform you... building grind spots in dingy dreary places makes a dingy dreary mood... whatever.

Anyway, the issue is that you could learn something from Slay the Spire.

- Here's how

1) I go to Star's End

2) I do 1 or 3 "loops" around a grind area

3) If no distortion earring drops I leave

Why?
- There's no use participating in the experience if the grind-to-profit ratio is going to be low today.

I simply can't afford to waste two hours of real life waiting for the pay-out of a what would be a 30 to 45 minute grind elsewhere.

- But again... the mood.

Elvia is like living in a despression-box.

- My mother is dying in real life. I have enough of a depression box.

So, I'm really serious when I say mood is rather affecting in game settings. And this isn't a call to some idiot virtue signaling stuff. Like "give me what i want because my real life sucks". My real life doesn't suck and I don't need someone to sympathetic act on my behalf because of something, however bad, that is temporary. What I am getting at is...

a) you can let us grind in places that aren't always scenically uninspiring...

- by uninspiring I mean they actually function to negatively (as to retract) impact our interest in continuing to participate (with gameplay)

b) you could "seed" the starts

Seeding a Start

- I'm drawing directly from Slay the Spire on this

1. You go to some location

2. For every 15 minutes a person continues to attack creatures, with an 8 minute downtime between this initial timer resetting, INFORM them of their next probable future with a LOW Value "reward" drop or HIGH Value "reward" drop. Similar to Elvia.
It doesn't even have to be much. 1.5 low, 3.5 high - million silver. That's it. The next now mulplity by 2.
If they stay 30 minutes 1.5 becomes 3. 3.5 becomes 7.
45 minutes becomes 3 becomes 6. 7 becomes 14.
And of course 12 or 28 later.
- this could be for somewhere like Thornwood, because 28 is roughly 1/4 the price of an ominous ring.

At Star's End perhaps getting 95 million per hour on the high end and 33.5 ish on the low, BESIDES Trash Loot, Caphras, Black Stones, Etc. would make the experience of HOPE feel ALIVE. Hope of actually coming out with a meaningful return after the grind. Because without a 100% drop rate at Star's End I do not see a distortion earring, even after 1 hour of grinding to several tens of hours except maybe once a month. Sometimes several months apart.

There's simply no reason to participate with most grind locations as the game currently is.
a) I lose more time grinding than I gain.
b) it is depressing because the locations themselves are

c) life is ultimately depressing or draining right now so there's no reason to pursue more of that.

Having options of where to go in a game for selective reasons like "Aesthetics" is important for inobvious reasons ("Devs") on the other hand, having Aesthetic choices that encourage you to believe your time is being wasted on the progress front, even if you are winning on the aesthetic front, is also discouraging.

As civilization retards continuously into ever more despotic fuedalism (the only future we seem to have available ahead of us in real life) I'm sure you'll start to understand the reason I continue to emphasize Aesthetics and moods in games being an important thing to manage.

And again, don't go changing something that's fine just because I referenced something negative happening in my life. I'm just pointing out to you how sharply stinging it can be to find every game lately wants to be "Edgy" and "subversive" with their continent. Like why do we constantly need to name all of our objects "Torment of Greatest Despair". Whatever happened to "Grace of the Spirits" or "Restortive Gift". Are we just waiting for all good things to die off as people forget how to write pleasant things that invoke equally pleasant reflections? If you don't understand where I'm drawing that idea from go read the Dialogue of the boss to the end of Blackwing Lair in original WoW. You fight your way to the boss, believing you are being triumphant against some evil of your time, only for that evil to snear at you and inform, "You're a mortal. An idiot. A temporary being who in confronting me in its time fails to realize it, but begins to see the face of a plan so long in motion, so far back into time immorial that your ancestors were confronting it to their own futility. Just as you do." It's like that. So, a little "Elion's Grace" once in awhile might just improve the world a bit. Just saying. Kind of like how Santa wasn't flying around this year. The depressing state of the world is getting to you too, huh? Just decided to hit delete on that reflection of a happier period in human history?
