they will never change that because of their partnership with internet cafes in korea
it's been almost 7 years that we ask for the workers, for the afk horses, for the afk fishing..

Some of the worker generated items are already worthless, let's make 85% of 'em sit on min price instead :D

Ask yourself why PA should pay for server time to calculate your workers progression and then ask yourself will you pay your own money for someone else.

To be technical, that's not how they would go about it. When you login into the game, the server software would determine how much time has passed and make easy calculations about your workers. It would work no differently than farmville or any other game like that. They already do that with the 1 time worker task thing when you logout. With that said, I don't see why there's a need for workers to work while people have the game closed, it's basically part of the incentive to play the game. I'd rather this game not become more like a mobile game.

Not only server have to calculate all of this for free, ask yourself why give anything to someone who don't play game ? While you afk at least you serve  as fake player to show that people still playing this game, if you log out you provide nothing for the game.

If you  want game become more like mobile, just play mobile version. Its even say Black desert mobile, not online.

Agreed totally! I would go even as far to say that if they made fish a lot more valuable (per-fish) or require less fish for cooking etc... They could get rid of AFK fishing. But of course they won't do that because it artificially boosts their active player count. So there is purpose at least with AFK activities as long as the game is running and having workers require players to remain online is one way to go about it. People are silly and try playing games that have big numbers rather than focusing on big fun so features have to be sacrificed to appease those people. :'(

tbh I see why horse training and fishing might be a bit strange to do while offline, but we have workers so our character doesn't have to do it themselves....my workers shouldn't have a need to be monitored 24/7. If they run out of stamina, then they can stop.

But yeah probably will never happen cause online numbers look so much better with afk ppl

That is correct it's called a time stamp.  It should be issued and recorded on the server side.  That way changing the clock on your PC has no impact.  The same thing is supposed to be done with things like skill timers.  If you don't people WILL hack the game and instantly reuse skills.

I wonder if Pearl Abyss made the rookie mistake?  (Yes of course they did ;)

Server side authentication is ALWAYS required because you can NEVER trust the client.

(But if you can't TRUST the client, how can you TRUST them to handle internal player disputes ;) You can't they will exploit and mob feed, just like they would cheat daily timers for infinite resources and spamming skills.

Can anyone tell me why we can't TRADE with other players ???

it is not nice to be slaver and force your poor employees to work forever and never have day off or holiday or break
