Removing potentially good features from the combat system is a bad idea, imo. They may also go ahead and remove grabs too, cus of desync. And while at it, maybe also FG and SA. 'Cus why not.
I dunno about your NWs, but I pretty sure the title is talking about the entire game. And in that case, I'd say remove it completely, so you can also properly enjoy grinding Crypt and other fun places. Make it fair for all, players and monsters.
Just run with ignore resistance, with the new crystal present you can do many build, plus if you are in capped NW you defo remove some staff since it's capped.

That's the problem, ignore resistance crystals not a "META" so they can't use it, and if you dare to go against META and build max resistance (which not working anyway) you must be removed!!!111111

If you want to have reduced interaction with the mobs in PvE that is your choice. I don't care about PvE resistance.

Classes that rely on CCs to be able to kill also usually lose damage trades. Having resistance in the game is a buff to Damage traders like succession sage, musa and the like. They can run up hundreds more HP, because they do not require a cc.
Also resistance remains something that should not be in any type of PvP game.

The game was much better right afterwards. Before the combat was mostly about comparing your PvE gains, because you were simply throwing damage and trading.
