So, we've been promised the release of the Land of Morning Light, and I for one, am excited to living in and experiencing an Asian land in this game.  It was one reason I chose this game ot play, and pciked Musa as my main.  Normally I'm the lawful-good Human Male Paladin in every RPG I play, so I didn't choose warrior and chose something different.  I went exotic Oriental, and I haven't regetted that choice one bit.  However, it seems that after 2020, things in this game feel unfinished, rough around the edges, unimaginative, choatic, not-thought-through, etc., etc.  I don't know what changed along the way, but in 2020, the art was top notch.  Three classes were released: Guardian, Hashashin, and Nova.  Outfits were readily available for these classes, and the problems around these classes felt minimal.  Things felt complete, developed and satisfactory.  I started playing in easly 2020, and I got hooked, and that is why I am here writing.

Slowly, though, things began to change.  The reboot of classes in late 2021..... changed some classes.  Some for the better, some for the worse.  Players that really got into classes for certain aspects had them altered, and for some players, they are not worth playing anymore.  Thankfully, Musa wasn't much affected.  But in 2022, things really began changing all the time, and new content being released felt rushed and not really thought through.......

So many issues can be discussed and they are in many, many threads on this forum.  With some people agree, and with others, people will disagree.  But I think everyone is seeing that things are just too unfinished, unpolished and open-ended in this game.  PA seems to think that people are craving new content constantly, but I am seeing more and more that people want what already exists to be fixed, polished and refined.  I feel that no new content should be released this year and the developers should focus on the bugged, and unfinished aspects of this game.  New content isn't going to make people happy, when they're constantly dealing with already existing bugged content.

This game is amazing,  What doesn't make sense is taking something that is great and making it less so.  Why should this game be taking steps back, especially in terms of art, visuals and audio?  Why do classes have to constantly be changed?  Class balance will never exist.  Some classes will be better than others in certain areas, and that is fine.  That's why there are different classes.  Why are new areas opened and then promptly forgotten?  Why are quests and stories started, only to never be finished?  Why are systems implemented, and are only superifcially fixed when underlying issues with them persist?

I love what is in this game.  I'm excited to see what can come.  But I am distressed to see that "fixes" are made that undermine the immersive experience.  I am distressed to see that this game is getting to big to maintain.  Therefore, I beg the developers to not introduce any new content after the Land of Morning Light is released.  They should only spend time adressing the bugs reported by players and make all systems updates and all existing content polished and relevant.

Your wish will going to become true, since it's already know that there will be no more content untill 2024, as the next FG piece after the port rat one not going to be added this year.

On the otherhand it's unlikely that they will start fixing stuff.

They way PA doing things, they might not make it to 2014. For naives who expect PA fix or balance anything, they wont.

Also don't expect PA to stop new class FOTM scheme, so expect twin brothers, step sublings, half bloods, triple sister and etc etc etc they can milk those weebs off.

How do you propose them to make money while fixing the game?

I agree, but this is not financially viable.

Well said my friend :) I know you speak for a lot of players, many of which probably don't spend much time on the forums. But we all feel these changes happening under the hood.

I agree, but this is not financially viable.

I know it often seems that way, but what is most financially viable for any company running an MMO is to simply keep their players around. The idea that 'only brand new content makes money' is a lie that needs to stop being perpetuated, there are plenty of opportunities to refresh and revamp old content that could make just as much money if not more.

The only reason why this might be considered 'less viable' is due to marketing - it's much easier to generate hype around brand new content than existing content. But as we've seen many times already, that isn't sustainable if the rest of your game is a broken mess. People will blow through the new content and immediately move on, so retention rates stay low. On the flipside - start revamping old and familiar content with new mechanics and fresh QoL, then *market it.* This does two things: entices old players to return to the game and gives existing players a reason to stick around. It's a very simple equation: higher player retention = healthier MMO = more money.

Improving existing content is a risk, yes... But I've tried to convert a few people to join BDO but they all left because the game is broken, too broken compared to games they already enjoy. Not only is the game broken but most of the features are incomplete. We want to see the game flourish and get better but it is difficult for them to juggle between improving existing content and adding new content that will make them money.

That doesn't mean they shouldn't do a few quick and easy changes to the game to improve it though. There are many things they can add, especially features they completed but never implemented. Take ice fishing for example. Where is that? We had it for one event, that's it. It should be permanently here. CP For houses? No thank you. Remove those and you create a new market (housing) and people would start investing in pearl housing items too. Simple change and yet massive effect. Is it really that hard to give us non-horse breeding like donkey, camel, etc? That would open up the game even more and make it more enjoyable especially if you like the alpaca the most. Imagine a T9 alpaca LOL

There are many little things that can go a long way. I hope that they consider revisiting these types of things, maybe not those examples specifically but in general we'd like to see improvements. If they make hundreds of millions per year, surely adding a small team of 5 developers to fix old content real quick. What's $200k/year? Pennies to them surely.... But you know, we sit here wanting this and that but we don't really know what's going on. Like, maybe there's a dev shortage in korea? Maybe their big investors want to see a new zone or character just to stay invested? I don't know. It's complicated, too much for us to know but without us telling them what we want, they can't really make decisions so, why not be optimistic about it and hope for the best! :D

I wonder how much they make on releasing new areas, or classes.  I saw ads for the game, but they weren't related to anything new.  I just happened to see it advertised on my phone when I was playing a game on it.  Stange story is I used to always be on my phone, but after trying this game out, I basically stopped doing things on my phone.  I don't play the game that I saw this advertised on, which is ironic, because I got hooked on BDO.  Now, I'm betting a lot of their cash comes from Pearl Shop items.  They could release outfits that haven't been available in years, Atanis, for instance.  And yes, they could be releasing new outfits throughout the year, and introduce some new gimmicks, but the real thing the devs should spend a year on is keeping their players interested by showing that they're interesting in what the players are already doing.  So, sea content, unfinished quests and regions, degrading art..... all these should be taken on first.  Seriously, if trees could be visible on the horizon back in 2020, why are they gone now?  Doesn't technology and programming get better over time?  And if it was working back then, why not now?  I'm getting suspicious thast they're just taking shortcuts, simplifying things to make creating new content easier, and in the end, making more off putting in less.  It's like a master painter deciding that quantity is better than quality.

We all know the sad ending to that approach.  I for one, do not need new classes or areas to keep me invested: I have 20 characters to develop!  There's a lot of time that can be invested in that.  Top notch players who've been here since the beginning?  I bet they won't leave simply because their game is being improved for a year.

I agree that they best way is to hire more keep to keep things maintained.  Spend green to make green is an essentail business approach!

Peace.

What do you mean no new content?  There is a group of upcoming MMORPG's in 2023 ;)

+1, i already seen so many people, including myself to simply say "No, i won't support the game this time because they simply don't deserve it, by delivering all these broken, unfinished content". People who don't care about long term playing i guess, or just come to actually breeze the new content and then go back to other game don't have much reason to leave money either, unless it helps them to breeze through it faster and forget (or they can just financially afford throwing money like this at any game)

I even had people logging this week, asking me how the new class is, aka Meagu. I simply said broken, with T-posing as idle animation, they just said they won't even try it then so there...It might work once, twice, but three times a charm of delivering broken content the first day isn't really a charm anymore, especially with creating unecessary hype beforehand. We were more happy to pay real money any time PA did fix something relevant and delivered quality, these days seem to be slowly going away. I don't honestly what is happening. Is it the marketing team pulling their ideas down, telling them to rush, not enough people and deadlines too short or they actually don't care anymore and Adventurer Feedback Board is just a decoy for "We trurly care" and the money made from 1-month of breezy unfinished content is satisfying enough for them? I would really love to see an official and actually honest answer but this won't happen. ┐(´ー`)┌
