Good morning community,

I'm here to describe and experience about a duel that I had with a Valkyrie. So what it happened it's just the fact that as the duel started she started to put me in an infinite CC chain and it was looking like I could be perma on the ground since I've received nearly 7 or 8 consecutive KD. I wasn't aware at all that this could be possible since I've always knew that there was the famous 5 seconds CC immune after reached the famous 2.0 points CC count (0.7stiff, 1.0 all the other ones). So what I'm asking for to the people that balance this part of the game is, when you created that famous patch where you planned to set this famous limit to 2.0 CC points, was it intented the possibility to have an infinite CC combo to manage to never make someone stand up? Because if you ask this to me, I see it like an exploit and if confirmed like this, please take in consideration to solve this thing ASAP since it's something very unbalanced. Following this post I'll post the conversation that I had with this Valk (ofc the names are darkened).

The CC limit is working. What the Valk did was Downsmash you. Downsmash is a CC extension that is an effect on some skills and works on grounding CCs. It is not affected by the CC limit. Valk has a skill that can do multiple downsmashes when excecuted quickly in succession, so there is a high chance of success on getting the downsmash (Be aware that each skill/hit only has a 30% chance of leading to a downsmash).

When using a KD as a secondary CC, the CC immunity of 5 seconds applies. However, when using a downsmash late enough during the KD, or even using more than one, the grounded state lasts for more than 5 seconds (the KD itself is already around 4, and a downsmash adds around 1 second on top).

This leads to a thing called "reset combos" where the enemy would intentionally do a KD as a secondary CC and use 1 or more downsmashes in order to be able to skip over the 5 seconds of CC immunity and Re-CC the target at the end of the grounded state once more.

Now, while it is not a bug or exploit, it definitely is a rather unfun mechanic that not only is unfair (due to certain classes having more access to downsmash than others) but also not widely known among beginners in the PvP sector. My personal opinion on it is that something needs to be done to make it less onesided, as being CCd for 20 seconds (which is technically possible with combo-cc reset-combo) is not exactly a great PvP experience.

The cc immunity feature was always a buggy mess and PA never cared to fix it.

Hello there, thanks for the explanation that you just give me. What I want to try to explain in this post is exactly this, that's not a normal mechanic, independently if you're a skilled player or not, this could lead to sth like u just need 180 ap and if you're capable to use this chain, you would win whoever is your opposite. I play this game by 5 years so I was here already when the old CC system with no limitations in it was live, and a patch was created to stop this infinite chain, if this thing is not corrected we're going back in a certain way to those times.

You have to understand that in BDO PvP, performing a combo is the least importan thing. The PvP in BDO is all about using your protections and CCs to DMG trade, fish for a cc and avoid getting cced. Once you are cced, it's pretty much over.
That's why those reset combos don't really matter. They only matter if the one doing the combo has way less gear than the other one and only if it's actually a 1v1. Even then, RNG can fk you over and stop the CC chain.

So unless PA suddenly decreases dmg by a lot, those combos don't matter.

Let me please to agree with you just in part, cause if you capable to survive a "normal combo" after the 2-3 CC you get, you can still stand up and find a way to keep fighting, meanwhile you can realize on your own that if there s a possibility for an infinite reset combo, you can even stand up from the desk and go make yourself a coffee cause you ll never be able to fight again until he kills you.

Yes, but this basically never happenes. In fact it's the only way someone low geared has a chance of killing a high geared player. But if both are somewhat equally geared, which is rather common with how easy it is to gear up nowadays, you will die in a combo anyways.

CC extensions have to go just as the rest of the rng in pvp only from there devs can realistically tweak it.
