If that file is not there, then you are missing certain folders in your install.
Do you have the folder called "Easy Anti Cheat" in your BDO installation folder? Are there any files in there, especially one called EasyAntiCheat_Setup?

If yes, please open that one and try to run it

@HasseoToD:

Hi.

I had the same problem.

PA has not been able to help me, every suggestion they made was useless and I had tried most of them by myself already.

To that day they consider the case solved because I found another solution, by myself, but they still can't tell what happened (even though I know: their patch was not clean, as for many updates. Shit happens!).

My solution might work for you too: I installed it on another partition (or hard drive, if you have).

It works normally now. Hope it'll help.

So I just did this and made it into the BDO client launcher and now the game is installing, I am going to try to install it on this drive then copy it over to the other drive and see if that does it! Thank you! I have tried probably 30 different things and nothing has gotten me this far

@HasseoToD:

Good if it starts at least! Now, I have let the game on my new partition, I didn't copy it to paste it back on the initial hard drive!

If it works for you then go ahead. But if not, you should try to leave it on the new hard drive (or partition). ;)

At least until the next patch.

So update here- I am able to play on one Drive which has the Win11 on it, which is weird but I can't on the other drive. I will try to install it on the drive I use for gaming later on and hopefully it'll have been patched by then. Thank you all for the assistance :)

Hello, I have been playing BDO on Windows 11 for about a year now and last week when I tried to load the game it would not work. So I tried a few things and those did not work, eventually I uninstalled BDO completely and then reinstalled it. After doing this I can not get BDO to get past the first Initiallization screen to make it to the BDO Client where the game actually installs. I contacted support and they told me to get a different OS since Win11 is not supported but there must be another option as I have been running this game completely fine for close to a year. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a screenshot of the client where it freezes during the install and the CMD prompt that pops as well if anyone needs it.

The CMD prompt says " Value UninstallString exists, overwrite(Yes/No)? I have tried typing Y, Yes, and once I press enter the CMD prompt closes then nothing happens and I am stuck at the screen saying Please wait while Windows installs Black Desert on your computer. This window never closes and I have to end it in the task manager. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas other than get a different OS please

Thank you!!

IT'S A SIGN!!!

Time to part ways and say your goodbyes to BDO forever.

just kidding, first uninstall ALL bdo files, everysingle file you have of BDO. Clean your temp files [Win+R & type %temp%]. Next time you install BDO, install it into different folder or disk. I used to play in W11 but it became too buggy so i went back to W10, every things runs smooth for me in W10.

been playing black desert on windows 11 successfully even when windows 11 was in closed beta, the issue is probably your windows install, try running command prompt as admin then running sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

also run chkdsk /r  then reboot your pc

if these dont work then try installing DDU and use it to uninstall your graphics drivers and reinstall graphics drivers from your gpu manufacturers website

If all these dont work then go to windows settings and go to system and select recovery then reset this pc, I suggest choosing to keep files if you have important data however if you dont need your data then reinstall it without keeping your apps, ofc you should choose to download an image of windows and not reuse the currently installed one if and when you reset.

Most likely your install is just corrupt and sfc aswell as DISM and chkdsk should be more then enough to repair it

Unfortunately microsoft arent very good at making reliable updates and often after a few months problems start to happen and windows corrupts itself which is why you should run sfc aswell as dism and chkdsk regularly aswell as using software like crystaldiskinfo to check the health of your storage devices!

I play BDO (no steam version) on Windows 11 too, no problems until today.

Maybe you should try this?:

Open the Registry Editor by selecting Start, Run, typing regedit and clicking OK. Navigate your way to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. In the left pane, with the Uninstall key expanded, right-click any item and select Delete.

Yeah dont do this you will likely corrupt your install
