Pearl Abyss have done artwork for all the BDO classes that use a bow like that. I think you're thinking of modern day bows which are like you said. Pearl Abyss draws the fantasy bows the other way as do many other mmo's.
Really nice artwork though Halihal I love the movement in the clouds behind.
