*Old post, scroll down for update*

Actually its well over 1500 when including inverted garmoth heart preorders. At the end of the last Garmoth/Heart event, we were at ~750 preorders, and it wasnt that long ago.

I waited a couple of days into this event so that last minute panic orders would be up, and preorders were in the 950s. Several days later, as the two week event is nearing its end, we hit 1000.

The reason that I believe that this is important and worth pointing out, is that even with 7 garmoths a week, more than double the normal amount, the supply of hearts is still  insufficient to keep up even with just with new demand alone.

PA knows how to fix this if theyre willing to give up using Garmoth Events as a strong incentive to draw players back. I just wanted to point it out

***Update***

I figured I would update this thread as we have now started a new +Garmoth drop event. It has been 2 months and six days since OP, but some of that was the Seven Days of Garmoth event so Im just going to say 2 months for easy figuring.

In 2 months the preorder demand for Garmoth hearts has gone up 17%. Thats 170 additional preorders. That is 85 additional preorders a month. According to BDOlytics there were 91 Garmoth hearts sold in the month before this event started.

That is to say that to meet only new demand and not even work down the 1170 preorders, we would need permanent double drop rate.

Im open to other methods as well, like making that awful garmoth heart quest repeatable. At least then we would have a path to  progression that isnt entirely reliant on very  low chance rng.

With 1170 preoders, even if we say that 100 preorders a month fill, a player would on average have to wait a year for a heart. Actually more than that, as there are an additional 85 preorders to compete with per month.

A player with average or less than average luck would find themselves next year with half the chance of a preorder filling as the additional 85 preorders a month will have nearly doubled the amount of preorders by this time next year.

Uncapping the price entirely would also work. No cap would mean that as the price creeps up, the preorders of all the players who have quit would be outbid by active players. This could help fix the deficit of hearts by not filling preorders on dead accounts. I dont think PA will do this because they want max incentive for players to return.

Simply raising the price but keeping it capped would release some hearts that people have been sitting on but fix nothing long term.

Another idea could be to simply make garmy hearts unlock their bonuses account wide through journals instead of attaching to individual weapons.

This wouldnt help the heart market at all but Shai players would really enjoy not needing a 3rd heart because PA wont fix Sol and tagging.

None of these matter. PA doesnt need advice on how to fix the heart deficit, they just need to be made aware that it has become enough of a problem

Thats all that this thread hopes to achieve

World bosses as a whole have gotten super boring and feel unrewarding, especially the awakened ones that take forever to kill for no reason. I love getting a single cron stone from garmoth too. I have just accepted that I will never get a garmoth heart and become less motivated to attend the boss fight.

I would love PA to improve the world bosses rewards. I barely do them except Vell and Garmoth. > w>

Since the day PA added these impossible to complete for many players (getting 50 turo hearts solo for some classes is unfeasible) quest for heart, which additionally cost us over 50% of the market value of the heart, neither I nor any of my friends got a Garmoth heart or horn.

It's ridiculous that an item that currently costs 9b and used to be 7-8b is so hard to get even though it's not typical 100-200b end game item.

For almost 4 years (I was at killing 99% of the Garmoth that there were at the time) I got 2 Garmoth hearts (but none after adding quests) and one horn (also before adding quests).

In the same time, I got 7 or 8 Vell hearts.

And how is it supposed to help?

Prices of pen manos accessories have gone up to a ridiculous 150b, and what has changed? Nothing, they weren't, aren't and won't be because crafting manos is too expensive and slow. And this is the problem with all accessories: there is too little supply of lvl 0 accessories (and they cost too much), and too little chance to reach a higher lvl for anyone to risk it.

In a typical mmo, an item such as Garmoth heart would be obtainable, for example, by crafting.

In bdo there is only one source: loot from Garmoth boss with 0.001% chance (I skip the one-time chance from quests because, as I wrote above, they are impossible for many players).

This is where the problem is. Every player must have Garmoth heart. It is as mandatory as kzarka/kutum or black star.

So we should change Garmoth Heart (and Vell heart, ) drop chance to the same as the boxes from world bosses and the problem is solved.

And what about Khan heart, which is unavailable (I can safely say) for 80-90% of players.

It's hard to believe that, when you get a chance garmoth hearts and 2 horns in 1 year. I think you very well lying about killing every garmoth spawn, just like my friends complaining when I got garmoth. Brother you need to kill it first if you want it to drop

Just like many other items in BDO, this one is missing a pity piece (or a proper Weekly Pity Quest), and as with the others PA decides to punish us for investing time into their game.

Everyone should get a heart if they've done ~100+ Garmoths.
