Hello all,

AT back with another post that you are not going to like, unless you really do care about BDO.

BDO is getting too soft. Update after update the seasons, quest, gear, grind, collections, journals, treasures, pearl items, and RNG are getting easier and easier. It seems like every time I read a patch or dev note, the conditions to complete this or that are becoming more and more lax. With every passing patch like this the hard work of all players that came before is getting diminished. I always knew this was coming, everyone knew that it was an eventuality. But you guys are accelerating this decay in an alarming and shocking way, and you need to REEL IT IN.

So with all this said I was to point out; the culture of the RPG is being destroyed by this development behavior. Never should you cut out the hard work of getting a stronger in-game character. When new players join and basically get fast-tracked to massive success and efficacy so quickly, they cannot and will not appreciate this MMORPG for what it is- a long term game.

I'm asking that the PA team take a serious look at how relaxed they are making this game, and examine the pros and cons of each decision.

Please don't let the train come off the rails here guys.

It´s easay: There is no use for new players to join elsewise since they will never make up for the time others had who were early. It´s the rule of any mmorpg.

Why do players have to "catch up"?  This is primarilly a single player game.  There aren't any events that offer huge bonuses to high level players only.  What they should do is, especially for new regions, give reasons and opportunities for all players to be there, low level monster zones and high level.  That's what they've pretty much done with Elvia.  It would be nice if the world was fully populated by players, but making obtaining end-game gear easy is not really the answer.

ROTFL.

"Relaxed" toxic unwated open pvp.

"Relaxed" enchant with 3% chance chance to succeed and degrade items and make them disappear.

"Relaxed" loss of experience and crystals due to death.

"Relaxed" time wasting due to the lack of a sensible and cheap fast travel system.

The first steps are becoming easier. The last ones are clearly still far harder and more time consuming than the standard of many current MMORPGs.

You can't stay ahead from others if you don't keep playing and progressing. You may have had a hard time reaching a certain threshold in the past which became nearly irrelevant with time, but back then, you got a benefit from this situation.

And if you have a real good gear now, new players will still have to spend a good amount of time to catch up to you.

So stop with the diminished hard work, it's not like you won a eternal spot at the top back then.

This game Is 7 years old, in order to push new content out that caters to a variety of players things overall have to move forward. There has to be a balance between difficulty and accessibility or you end up with content either only old players touch for years or old players have no interest in. This game does have a balance and like with literally every mmo it has to be adjusted to keep the game accessible to brand new accounts. Literally no one wants to struggle failstacking to raise grunil armor to eventually buy boss gear with now. An outright waste of their time to keep things as hard as it was when you were a baby with more content to explore and plans to continue development making the ceiling of "endgame" progressively more out of reach.

This kind of post is usually clearly fueled by "Why did I have to struggle if they dont?" And the answer is usually to be the best at the time, eventually things move on and the dedicated people will remain on top regardless of what comforts are provided. The player base is greatly enjoying all of the new QoL. There are still just as many high end difficult goals as there ever were, now people can actually function within their first month.

"With every passing patch like this the hard work of all players that came before is getting diminished."

Your in game achievements don't get diminished because they make the game more accessible and enjoyable to have a successful product.

They get diminished because you compare your progress to others and glorify the good old days like suffering through subpar gameplay is some badge of honor.

It's not.

Without catchup mechanics and new players coming in, you wouldn't be getting new regions, classes, etc. because the funding would dry up eventually.

Sometimes I wonder if thats what people want when they expect things to stay the same. Change has to happen for growth and often means discomfort in some way. I am glad people can start essentially with low-mid gear from season when the higher end is still several months of lucky progress off. Giving people a comfortable start is not taking anything at all away from those 100+ billion silver accomplishments.
