Hi,
After yesterday's update (03-15-2023) the Windows Taskbar overlaps the game viewport when in Fullscreen Window mode.
No matter what I try or do, this issue keeps coming back after switching to Full Screen Window mode.
This setting is my prefered setting when playing BDO and I have always used this setting without any issues.
How to replicate:
1 - open in-game Settings
2 - choose "Full Screen Window" in Display Settings
3 - apply
4 - switch to one of the other settings (Full Screen/Game Window) and repeat above steps to replicate the issue again
Cause:
I don't have a clue other than that the issue started to appear after the March 15 2023 game update.
So, right before the update (in the morning) things were fine and after the update the Windows Taskbar stays in front and overlaps the game window.
Restarting the game doesn't help. Alt-Tab does not resolve the issue. Just to name a few simple taken steps.
Workaround:
1 - choose a different setting other than above (how obvious)
Solution (possible):
1 - close the game
2 - delete the GameOption.txt file located in C:\Users\...(your windows user account)...\Documents\Black Desert\ (be sure to make a backup of this file first...just in case)
3 - restart the game
4 - Caution...you have to redo all your prefered settings as BDO will create a default settings file. In case you need it you can compare settings with the backup file.
Sounds a bit weird after I did this because I see no particular reasons if the text file was corrupted in a way, but it worked for me.
What usually helps for me is putting it in full screen windowed mode. Whenever the taskbar overlaps, you can then just click once on the task bar, and then click on the game, and it goes back to the front and the task bar dissapears

The issue was only happening in fullscreen window mode. So that's my whole point :)
What you say is indeed a workaround and this is the same thing I usally do whenever the taskbar is behaving abnormal.
Or alt-tabbing also works most of the time.
But this time nothing helped and thus I tried the above (possible) solution by re-creating the GameOption.txt file.
Ah ok, just didnt know if you were aware of the workaround ^^
If you have no need to continuously alt+tab, then I would highly encourage you to use Full screen mode without it being windowed borderless. I know windows 11 has the ability to not drop frames but most people use windows 10 and BDO doesn't support windows 11.
The trick you can do is double click on the title bar. You might have to drag it a bit before you do but double clicking will automatically resize the window so that it fits correctly. Unfortunately windows is buggy and it's not something that PA can 100% solve if it still happens in borderless full screen mode. It's the nature of how the task bar works and there are so many bugs with the task bar system unfortunately.
Hope you can tolerate the workarounds because I don't think Microsoft will fix this in windows 10 :(
Hello, I have exact same problem
have you found the solution?
Had the same problem. Did not try reinstalling as I am too lazy to figure out UI stuff again. Verifying files didn't work either.
What did work was disabling taskbar on multiple displays (if you have multiple monitors) and setting BDO monitor as not main monitor. If only one monitor, then enabling auto-hide taskbar when in desktop mode will work.
