Just looking for advice on where to head next. Linked to a maegu.

I recommend joining the striker or maegu discord to ask for gear help.
General recommendations would be getting R4 kutum from jetina, doing magnus for free pen helmet, and doing jetina for bhegs / red nose. Then buy a pen uru. Continue the pen acc questline. Get a Vell.
Then if you want to stay pve only get double tet distos and start investing caphras
