I don't know if I am smart anymore, but I feel like some tthings are pretty obvious. I seem to understand them. Maybe I'm wrong here. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. That's not a challenge; it's just sayin'.

There are bottle necks in the BDO economy, and there is no reason there should ever be haha. There have been attempts to fix these bottlenecks: give away traces, fruits as quest rewards or farm trade ins. That is a flawed botttle neck fix!! You guys must not understand what people do with alchemy if they think giving you 100 traces means something hahaha. (Rounders Edward Norton, "Thanks, but I mean..." ) The actual fix is to make them acquirable RAW by other life skill professions. Kami-tier processing should yield powders and such... like the same sort of crap you'd get hitting a node minus the rares and spirit powder/dust. Like copper, powder of flame WOW. Tho that's not an issue cuz that's not a bottleneck.

This is how I feel: gathering trees should yield fruits. The whole balance is off. Sure, that's cool that a trace is worth 187k but you can sap a tree and 1 hit you prol get more than that, consistently. They need to make gathering traces be insanely profitable, like multiple traces per hit, same with fruits, you can't put that all on farming at this moment imo. Mbe ever. Cuz people told me how to farm and make my own alchemy stuff and I was like that's not even close to the amount I wanna be messing with for the amount of dramaz. Rock nodes could yield traces and trees could yield fruit. WOW. And like I said, high tier processing should produce some wild stuff that is somehow thematically related to the item you are processing.

As for pearl items, forget them, but every other item should NOT HAVE A MAX PRICE. Caphras need to be at least 5m MIN. They should be put at 5m base once they creep to that and then allowed to adjust. Caphras are something you get PLAYING THE GAME. You should have to pay dearly to buy them!

As for Value Pack, people said no matter what the price you put on it, people will pay, and that may be true, but I still think BDO should put up x amount of value packs with unlimited bid per month. Winner gets the VP. Would be a good gold sink, and it could also allow you to investigate anyone stupid enough to bid that on an acct that they are doing wack things on.

The whole economy is semi dead, and it's not like PA would care. Like there are items sitting at min/max price since 3-4 years? lmao

There are way too many items despite most of the items are useless. They should start deleting the useless redundant items, but they rather add more and more pointless items with every region instead and then some ppl wonder why they sit at min price...

Economy? This game has no economy at all and the mindless price changes the PA makes only makes things worse.

Eg. we had a million preorders for meat, PA raised the price of meat, now we have millions of meat that no one wants to buy and no one will buy because PA didn't raise the price of imperial cooking boxes. No one will buy meat if the imperial box doesn't make a profit.

Alchemy is dead because it's too expensive, requires ingredients from multiple sources, gives no profit, and is treated much worse than cooking (smaller bonus from mastery, cheaper imperial boxes, no wholesale crafting).

And millions of ores and other ingredients are left behind by players because creating trash boxes with workers is too slow and not profitable enough (that's why I already suggested that they should be produced on their own without workers).

You can't raise the price of caphrases just like that because their price affects other items.

But it's all because these items can't be used profitably. For PA in bdo only mobs killing exists (and sometimes some pvp tournament).

And even if PA changes something and gives a "second life" to dead items, it does it wrong.

I contend it does have an economy because you can maneuver within it and make money if you know what you are doing. There is some order there.

Caphras are just stupid at the price they are. This is late late game, and I think a lot of people might just choose non-caph end game stuff. Those people need to be paid off for the caphras, people needing to play the game more generates more caphras. Right now, not enough caphras are being generated to satisfy the economy.

Why do you think price fixing is a good idea?

Alchemy is fun. Like I said I was playing when light stones dropped and I made a decent amount of money on that alone. The fact that it is the only heavily limited profession is odd, though. I love seeing what I end up rolling. It's not about the money, but I do make money, haha. Sometimes you just gotta sit on something for awhile.

The problem with the way things are now is it is depending on people doing what amounts to afk daily quests and then dumping to the market, fetch quests basically. Like dude said, there are a bunch of items that are useless. I don't agree with deleting them from the game, but make them substitute for something. And yeah, I know, that messes things up, too. It returns to a 'balanace' better than before, tho, imo.

But caphras are generated by most mobs at a pretty decent rate, it's a big part of the salary of a low-mid game player. If people are going for end end game then they should have to pay. IMO. I'm not asking for the price to be raised automatically, but just saying put it on somewhere w/ 5m as an option. See where it settles. 3m per caph is wild oats.

Yeah caphra max price should be 5m, however it's already too late, soon it will goign to sit on market anyway.

It's not too late because it's a fundamentally diff game. I am surprised it's still running somewhat at this point, but I think the split of pve gear and caph gear is enough to create a working balance. I'm a big fan of caphras and i have held them. They used to not be 3. Just like all the items like spirit leaf, reagent, bloody tree etc were like 1/10th of price. Something is off. It's still ok, but due to shifting demographics and hopefully to retain players (something they never could do.) I mean caphs have been the same right. They are a unique item for people to progress end game. Not sure why people think it should be as cheap as it is with everything else inflated.

you want to encourage people to keep playing, even if they are doing nothing. If they got pens. I didn't see the reason for the caph drop update awhile back but I was salty cuz my caph rain from trees was getting impinged upon. It's funny now there are fewer caph, they did change the rates for low c too, but it's like people suddenly figured it out or smart rich gamers are like hum mite as well max buy order more caphs this morning. Haha.

But I'm a life skiller, just offering a hot take on what I feel is bad in the economy.

What do you mean by this? No meat is currently sitting at min price. The cheaper meats that didnt get their price cap adjusted correctly are still sold out with lots of POs on them. Everything points towards the meat currently sitting on the market is being priced properly according to supply and demand.

I agree on things not having max prices (with a few exceptions).

What generally hurts lifeskills, though, is demand, not supply.

At launch, they outlined a good system. In trying to simplify the game with cron meals and one-size fits all elixirs, they massively narrowed the demand to a small set of items. The idea behind the original system, is there was diversity in demand, so there'd be a more dynamic market. Making demihuman elixir? Original launch, everyone grinding orcs would be a customer. Now, nobody is a customer cos they're using (probably) free draughts with free magical elixirs.

It's kinda remarkable - as they launch into another ellie event, making cron meals worthless - the original system was strong enough to survive. But what they really need to do to 'fix' cooking and alch, is return to a system where different meals/elixirs are better for different classes and different grind spots / PvP situations - and make a far more significant and worthwhile difference vs a generic option. That and remove caps on max prices for those things. That and fix the daily alch turn in vs cooking, and the overall quantity of the daily turn-ins, to drive demand.

The whole idea with these lifeskills is not that you spam one item based on bdolytics, but you watch/anticipate supply and demand. When demand is concentrated on an handful of items, and supply is fixed at max price/POs, there's none of that - there's just POing what makes money and cooking/alching it when you can bothered.

Without max price cap, new players will not join this game anymore, I am afraid that in this game it may create situations where casual will never be able to save enough money for rare items, because their prices will keep growing and growing faster than he is able to earn.
