Hello again Everyone!
This post is over the idea of adding a sort of battlegrounds to Black Desert Online. This is much different than any current forms of Red Battlefield but could easily be added as another version like we already have with Garm pit, Ruins & Valencia. This gamemode would be disabled during any active nodewar times as they partially crossover. This would hopefully be a fun way for players to try something similar to nodewars before fully diving into the scene! Would also allow players to practice or get better in preperation for actual Nodewars. If this is added as an additional RBF map i would instead of having the current system of RBF, add a "Queueing System" with random map rotation. For guilds who wish to practice, add in custom RBF lobbies.

Main TLDR points of Battlegrounds which ill go into detail later.

- 20v20s for more active queueing
- 40v40s for selective times

- Team queueing that is gear weighted
- Each "Base" has the following buildings: Alternate Automated Flame Towers, The Fort or Base, Recovery Depot, Supply Depot along with barricades & a gate
- Spawn timer is base at 15 seconds, scales to 30 seconds & an additional 10 seconds per missing recovery from your team for a max of 60 second respawn timer
- Additional objectives being the Forward operating base (FOB) & the Artillery Station
- Uncapped initially, if there are enough games running Capped implementation may be added later.

Win & Loss Conditions!
Winning and losing is fairly simple, kill the enemies fort before yours dies and you win! The more detailed part of it is you need to destroy the enemy buildings to extend respawn timers, deny rebuild kits, ammo for the Artillery Stations & destroy flame towers. The matches would be a max of 30 minutes as well, at the end of the 30 minutes whichever fort has more hp, wins!

Buildings, side objectives & nitty gritty of the gamemode
Flametower (FT for short) - This would be an automatic version of the flametower that exists within nodewars already with a couple more key factor changes, the FT has down attack modifiers, meaning if you're CC'd to the ground youll take more damage & it CANNOT CC through protections such as Super Armor or iframe. This is to help melee exist and function in a much more healthy manner. Without this change we may see a very unhealthy mindset that melee will never push the FlameTower.

 Supply Depot - The supply depot is where the supplies & horses are purchased for use. Supplies may include: Ammo for the Artillery Station, Mana/HP Potions, rebuild kits for buildings & the ability to repair your gear.

Recovery Depots - Similar to Nodewar Recoveries, they raise the respawn time by 10 seconds if killed & with 3 recoveries make the spawn time a maximum of 60 seconds near the end of the match.

iFrame Changes - Currently in Nodewar when someone spawns they receive a few seconds of iframe & can freely move & cast abilities. This leads to a lot of toxic gameplay & class abusing to turtle which is unhealthy for both sides. Instead, have the iframe to be similar to flags in nodewars where you keep the iframe UNTIL you draw your weapons. This will allow people to escape their base if they're getting camped but wont allow people to iframe abuse.

Forward Operating Base (F.O.B.) - This forward operating base is to act as a "flag" for the aggressor team. In a near midpoint between the bases would be an objective you can capture similar to objectives in the Valencia RBF. Once captured, players can "Respawn at Outpost" at a nearby location. This acts as a very important objective point that can easily switch the momentum of battle.

Artillery Station - Capturing this point would again be similar to capturing a point in current Valencia RBF. Once captured, this point fires like a cannon towards the enemy base to help deannex pesky turtle players. This could be used by either side to switch pressure & allows another objective in a more smallscale environment for classes which benefit as such. Ammunition would need to be regularly brought to the cannon (maybe 10 shots per reload) to stop players from camping the Artillery without doing anything else. This would also mean a team which is fully deannexed would have to wait for supply to be rebuilt on their side to fire, causing additional objective importance on Supply Depots.

Matchmaking & Team Balance
For matchmaking & team balance, when a player joins, set them to a team with lesser gearscore. So if Team (A) has a combined gearscore of 3400 & Team (B) has a combined gearscore of 4000, the new joining player would join Team (A). Limit this to maybe 3 players over on either side to prevent 7v20 situations. If you leave the match, assign a 2 minute cooldown to rejoin. This should help prevent people leaving to switch teams but wont affect those who's game crashes as by the time they load back in, their CD is expired. 

20v20 or 40v40
I'd like to see two variations for Battlegrounds. 1 mode that runs very often throughout the day, in which teams are 20 players each. Additionally occasional version that we see which provides a much larger, more nodewar like experience which is set to 40v40. This may be 1-2 times a day, every few hours, whatever is decided best based on participation of said gamemode. This could also be used to replace a nodewar day or two per week to alleviate guilds from constantly needing to war.

Anti Abuse Mechanics
There are ways to negate most "AFK Abuse". We see these already in RBF & as such while some AFK'ing may happen, the vast majority of players are active which is what matters. Many of these would be VERY dependent on the final version of this gamemode so i'll list them in bullet point form & may adjust later as Pearl Abyss decides to implement such a gamemode.
- AFK timer, go AFK, get kicked
- "Points System" Points can be aquired VIA kills, objective taking, player damage, healing done, buildings damaged/killed & buildings built/resupplied.
- Remove EXP rewards, the majorty of AFK'ers in RBF are due it being one of the best ways to hit level 65+. These levels are just for status so as such to help prevent abuse, remove EXP rewards. Skill point rewards are fine as is.
- Area "AFK" timer. To help with players just taping down their W key & sprinting into a wall, make it so if a player stays in a small area for too long it counts as AFK.

Rewards
I would very much like to see rewards for this gamemode but as money for PvP is a hot topic at this time i'll let Pearl Abyss decide what rewards to give in the meantime, until such system is introduced or if we see money for PvP given to other PvP modes such as RBF, AoS or additional money for Nodewars.

Below as well I will update, answer questions & address issues people bring up. Any changes made to this post will be put below.

FAQ Answered
"Would this be useful for guilds to train for Nodewars?" - Yes! A Guild could all join into a single Battlground to train new shotcallers, flex teams/leads or just get more practice for whatever they want (trapping, objective pushing, push/pulling or just general pvp.

This is already a thing though, not even that you'll get kick if you don't died or haven't kill anyone in a minute to two.  Just kick players that haven't deal any damage or haven't received any damage.

Correct, i listed some that already exist in RBF for those unfamiliar and to help get the point that they need to KEEP said mechanics. I also already have dmg/kills/etc listed as well in the post like you suggest.

RBF is literately a battleground.

You just suggest adding more maps, however there is already not enough players for RBF, adding more maps would just split the already low playercount even more.

I did mention at the start that this could just be considered another map variation of RBF. Adding another map wouldnt lower the count, we dont see this as is with the various maps. People usually pile into 1-2 maps at a time with it usually being Valencia & occasionally the Ruins map.

There is also a lot of discussion behind rewards for RBF, especially from choices post which may help to revitalize RBF. If that occurs, another map would be very nice to have & this is just another game mode or option for people, we saw a HUGE resurgance of people playing RBF when the Valencia map was introduced but with it having some poor mechanics, very "Same-y" gameplay & no strategy behind it, its died off quite a bit. A new game mode that hopefully is well made & polished may have more long lasting attendance & im sure at the least for a few months lobbies will be full, could even have a rotational between the various maps in the future that people queue into? But thats another post & idea entirely.

Yeah ppl said it before garmoth was added, and they did said this before valencia got added, yet the numbers shows that there are only enough palyer for a single RBF at a time.

Valencia did not increased RBF palyer count the slightest. Back then before valencia got added we had up to 3 RBFs runing every day on the EU. Now after valencia this is down to 1.

While this is largery due to valencia being AIDS, this also reflect the overall state of PvP in generall.

Surely if they boost the silver to a broken levels just as they did with the shadow arena, players will going to grind that instead of hexe, but do not misunderstood this with "resurgance". If you boost trading silver to 2b/h everyone will going to trade whole day, but not cause they like it...

For several weeks if not a couple months we had very little RBF participation then saw 4-5+ lobbies full in NA when Valencia RBF was released. Obviously it died down once people got bored of the new content, as always what happens in video games. A new mode would help get people BACK again & if there is money behind it, it feels better to play (different topic tho). I LOVE RBF & I play all the time. It feels bad that it doesnt progress my account, if it did i'd easily sink more hours per day in doing it because i can progress & enjoy the content im doing.

A new mode would really help in general though, its a different way for people to do RBF to help spice things up as we already do by occasionally jumping back into the ruins map and may be a better way for guilds to practice Nodewars or for new players to try out something that feels similar if they have interest but dont quite wanna commit yet.

I like the idea but IMO up to 60 second respawn timers while standard for NW and siege is a little too long for an RBF game mode.

Wow great idea, surely PA will notice this and listen to NA PVPers and try to add more content... Surely :) . Joke aside, More variety is a good thing - Keep on fighting for more content Jonney and keep the PVP scene from dying.

pvp in bdo is a sinking ship (seems to me atleast) there has to be something BIG to turn the interest.
