The game should never require changing servers for basic tasks.  Such as Imperial Trading, Enchanting, General Trade, or other functions.

This is just a failure waiting to happen.  It's innevitable that it will lead to game crashes.  I currently crash at least 50% of the time when just switching characters in town.  But wait! It's so much worse then that.  Most of the time I will crash a second or third time right after.  The invalid authentication will commonly crash the game right after it's loaded again.

With a game dispersed across multiple platforms and with everyone on a PC having different specs this is simply bound to happen with software.  So what developers can do to mitigate this is NOT CREATE situations in which you have to NEEDLESSLY RELOAD THE GAME.

You are so clueless about basic design that you got it unsurprisingly all wrong as usual.

The proper solution is obviously fixing stability issues and let people reload the game as often as they please or need.

Basically the whole MMO industry based on zoning relies on software stability instead of crippling mechanics to allieviate stability flaws.

On a side note, your title is useless as it doesn't describe the topic you're attempting to discuss. A competent poster would use "server swapping" or something like that.

Well it's certainly no surpsise you got absolutely everything wrong.  That is because you do it intentionally.  This type of behavior has been detected in schools where a person gets all the multiple choice answers wrong.  If they had done it randomly they would get a percentage right by default.

Thus you are always trying to get the wrong answers.

The crashes do not occur when changing zones or even using teleport items.  It occurs when changing channels or loading the main menu.  And if you actually played the game you would know several systems are built into the game to either highly encourage or require that.

If you had actually put any effort or thought into it you would realize it's virtually impossible to prevent these crashes by patches or improving stability.  There are simply so many software conflicts, differences in hardware, operating systems etc.

So a good developer would try to AVOID instances which could lead to these crashes.

It would be smart for the developer to improve stability. Not every game crashes on channel swaps - so don't say it's virtually impossible. I hope they continue to work on this and don't just throw up their hands in defeat. 

But I also agree that when you have an ugly issue, a good workaround is super worthwhile. They might as well review gameplay mechanics that encourage players to channel swap, and reconsider how those mechanics work and try to reduce the incentive for channel swapping If channel swaps are causing crashes and they currently don't have a good fix for those crashes, they why not design the game in a way that minimizes player desire to channel swap?  

It makes sense to me.

They should always strive to improve the optimzation, fix bugs, and eliminate crashes.  That's an entirely different point that doesn't relate though.

In it's more simplistic form you have only two options

1. Create systems with the least amount of reloads possible

2. Do a poor job and artificially create problems that result in crashes

Millions of Copies of BDO where sold.  That means millions upon millions of loading attempts.

The MORE LOADS THE MORE CRASHES

The LESS LOADS THE LESS CRASHES

It's really that simple.

Needlessly changing channels to turn in Imperial Boxes makes you more PRONE TO CRASH.

Needlessly swapping characters to enchant makes you more PRONE TO CRASH.

These are game design FLAWS.

Remember these are the developers that created a system in which you would kill a horse with an alt to make it red then move your items to that character to mash it's face into guards repeatedly until you broke your gear down so you build enchant stacks.

These people NEED guidance.

They need to be told what to do and HOW TO DO IT.

and you're so intelligent compared to the others? the ignorance in your comment is huge. the problem with crashes, judging by one particular point made in the original post is he gets kicked because the game wants him to verify his log in again. lazy ass coding. but it could be more than that. not one post so far i have found has been about the worst protection from hacks program out there..... Easy Anti Cheat.... it's probably the biggest issue with the game, but how lazy do you have to be to use a program that restricts legitimate players, while allowing the laziest hacks through???

I promote providing high quality software that doesn't randomly crash. If EAC isn't stable, it obviously needs either an update or a replacement. I don't see any contradiction with my previous comments.
