A small example, for sure you are all afraid of how the RTX works and looks, this is a decent refreence i'd say since Hogwarts Legacy its around a RPG game and BDO is too, since most of the RTX shots are from FPS games mostly.

We are now in 2023, if PA wants to stay competitive with future mmos/games, they should consider updating the engine of BDO and introducing new technologies like OP suggested.

BDO made them into a billion dollor company. It's definitly worth investing more ressources into BDO. They can still make alot of money from this cash cow.

Unfortunately the devs denied BDO getting the black space engine something about to much time was in the last heidel ball iirc, i suspect they have in the pipeline a new mmorpg to replace BDO(they obviously wont talk about it to early as community backlash will be pretty prevailent) that isnt announced but is pre production stages (concepts). Crimson Desert isnt a mmorpg supposedly so we can count it as not being one.

One can dream. At the very least DLSS/DLAA/FSR 2.0 implmenetation and LOD rework won't require something as radical as engine swap at this point while effectevely eliminating most of the BDO's visual inadequacies. But full on migration to a modern engine would be ofc amazing, i just feel like if they can't be bothered with relatevely simple upgrades to their engine then something like that just will never happen. But who knows. Defenetely worth bringing this up, good post.

idc about the fps, will this remove the stutters and freezes???

AFAIK it was something regarding "until new projects are released and tested" they wont go an upgrade BDO, so it was like release DokeV and Crimson and then consider BDO upgrade. I'm not sure but in many interviews they pointed out that the new engine is like a 50% the old or so and they metioned that a BDO upgrade "might" come. About a new MMORPG i'm not informed and would like to get to know more if you got any resources. Thanks!

The thing about DLSS 3.0 is that you need modern hardware to run it, I think 40x series is minimum, so if you have a 30x series, you're out of luck. PA does have the talent to make good looking games at least but upgrading BDO to a new game engine would require a complete remake and I highly doubt there's money to be made if they did it. Your presentation is nice, and we can all dream of the possibility. Who knows though? FF14 is getting a makeover and the results so far are stunning meaning BDO will be kept back. If GW2 or ESO decides on a makeover, then I can see PA being forced to do the same without releasing a sequel since it's the trendy thing to do. 

I do hope they remake their LOD system at minimum though.

Migration to a more modern engine likely would solve those issues, but it's a radical step. It's very possible that just introduction of a proper DX12/Vulkan support would solve stutters and freezes. It's not a trivial task ofc, but i imagine it can't be compared to full on engine swap in it's complexity.

Will it give them more money to spend resources on this, over making fotm classes and more outfits? 

Probably not, so the answer will probably be sorry we will get around to it once the whales have been sucked dry and all wallets are empty.
