Yeah, right. If that was correct she should be able to trade with gauntlet classes (striker, mystic). Those classes can easily obliterate DK. It's not debatable.

Just to  justify situation - do you understand we talking about awakening DK ? the trash tier class, not the speedy strong succession one.

dafq, you know this is about Awakening DK. In succession it might be true that you can trade quite well in melee range with some skills but Awakening, no way you can win a trade agains 90% of the classes, thanks to class modifiers. I see your point from a Rangers perspective that you might have a hard time against Awakening DK because in my opinion Awakening DK is realy made for killing Ranger and Archer on the open field.

That doesn't mean that she is that strong agains all other classes.

Don't get me wong, Awa DK doesn't need to be strong against every class, but right now she realy doesn't fare very well with most scenarios.

The problem is that in general DK, both in Succ and Awa was intended to be an assasin type class, while Succ DK can fit that role because of good dmg, Awa unfortunately doesn't have that after an initial burst.

Thats not necessarily because the skills deal too little dmg, its more that there is a lack of proper dmg combos.

Awakening DKs main dmg skills all have very long cooldowns. That way it happenes very often that you land a CC, for example with a seed ar medium distance, if you don't have Shattering Darkness ready its very hard to follow up on that, you can use one of the dashes to traverse the distance but then you dont have much time to deal dmg so you immediately need to do a followup CC so not much dmg in the fist cc.

Very often you have to rely on non Awakening skills in both PvP and PvE, sometimes i feel like im using more Non Awakening Skills than Awakening, even if they are only for protection or movement. Kinda wierd if you think about it, when you are actually playing the class in awakening.

But thats mostly because of the long CDs on awakening Skills and the lack of usable Awakening skills, a lot of them are somewhat useless.

For example, as mentioned by OP, Spirit Blaze and Flow: Spirit Blaze, using these skills is super slow has very bad range and the dmg is a joke. But i don't think the way OP wants to fix this is wat i would do.

I would give Spirit Blaze a FG and a little bit bigger range.

I woild give Flow: Spirit Blaze a SA and bigger range to the front and a lot more dmg.

Why? I think it should be the close combat finnisher combo that Awakening DK lacks at the moment for PvP.

And for pve it would fill the dmg gap between the main dmg skills, so it would play a bigger role in the main dps combo. the biggest problem right now is that Spirit Blaze has so little range and dmg that a lot of people never uses it in pve and just quickslots the flow, which kinda works but defeats the purpose.

Overall i gree with OP on the general statement that Awa DK needs changes, i would do a lot of things differently, tho. But i want to keep this post short for now.

then play succession since its the same thing just better. not like ranger where you basically have 2 different classes

Since buffs finally happened I feel the need to address them here as well.

While I'm glad the PvE issues have been somewhat addressed, even though there's room for a lot of improvement still, the PvP side of things remains largely unchanged. Most notable changes affecting PvP are the Spirit Legacy cd change (something I advocated in this thread😊) and Unveiled Dagger attack speed duration change to 10s. These are not enough to make the class fun in capped PvP and AoS!

So I really hope PA will consider more of the things me, and others, are suggesting to be done about that.
