hi guys

i am really sorry for my bad english but i got a question. how do you guys assign your hotkeys? i mean i know how to do it but i need advices what keys to use. i do not have numpad on my mechanical keyboard so i could use some suggests how to use all of the 20 hotbar slots. i have 11 keys assigned now (0-9 & hp potion assigned to one of my mouse buttons, i do not want to use the other buttons on my mouse cause they are very uncomfortable to reach and press). how do you guys organize your hotkeys? can not use f1-f12 cause a lot in-game actions use those keys. but i would like to use all of the hotbar slots for my shai to be able to use talent skills from hotbar for faster actions

I wish they would support shift+number row for the second set of hotbars, but I haven't been able to make it work.

Not speaking directly to which keys to use, but as a Shai, it is much quicker to use the talent skills by key input rather than hotbar.  You can literally spam the 4 main buffs right after each other using the keys, whereas hotbar you have to wait a few seconds between them.  So, hotbar one of them (I usually use Sun, Moon, Stars), then immediately mash s+f, rmb, rmb+s, and it should pop all 4.

yeah would be cool to be able to use shift combo on hotbar but i am going to try your advice now. probably you are right i am still shai beginner still learning how to be faster. thank you my friend

I use a 65% keyboard, don't even have the function keys

you are not supposed to have that many items/skills on the hotbar lol

at most you would have 5 skills (1 - 5) then the rest would be food/elixir/buffs

if you press ctrl, you will have access to your mouse, then you can click the stuff on the hotbar that pass key 0.

I don't know how anyone could use a small keyboard. I'll always use a full sized keyboard.

Suggest you to learn the button inputs, it'll pay off, trust me.  Some abilities cannot be moved from your skill menu to a quickslot.  I think at the bottom of the skill window there is a button that says "Skill Cooldown Settings" or sometihng (not at gaming PC right now) and from there, you can assign abilities to the skill coolown slots.  Use the "Edit UI" tab in your esc menu to toggle on and off the skill cooldown slots.  I find this useful in managing your skill cooldowns.  But for executing abilities, highly suggest to learn the inputs.

For the most part this is true, but specific to the Shai, it is way quicker to hotbar the one talent buff, as you can just hit the single button and start playing it, as opposed to having to hit "c", wait for the animation to stop, then hit "f" to get that one started.  And this skill doesn't have any penalty to using the hotbar.  I can hit the hot key, and then immediately jump into the key combos for the other 3 buffs to fire them off quicker than I can flipping to talent, and then doing all 4 skills via combo.

For the OP, this is all dependent upon which classes and skills you are using.  Most of the skills will have penalties for using them from the hotbar, such as reduced damage or increased casting time.  The "negative" on using the Shai buffs from the hotbar is that you have to wait for the previous one to finish playing before you can start the next (I think it is 10 seconds or something like that between hotbar actions), whereas the combo doesn't have that limitation so you can spam all 4 in about a second or less.
