Hello.

 

I know its really early to judge Sage as a class. It lack all rabams, 2 succesion skills (converted from awk ones) and whole awk.

In other words everyting can change after Sage receives full kit.

If Sage base mechanicks we currently have are here to stay the class will be dead in a 1-2 months:

1) Prime Rift chain lingering SA - is a little too short compared with overall time of finishing precasted skills+escapeing.  If other skills wont get protection, lingering SA shall be at least 2 sec long without cd. And to tell the truth it would be really nice and quite unique addition (class with solid one kiting skill and no protection in others)

2) IF the long casting time of dmg skills stays as it is ALL shall be cancelable (by Rift Chain), even after 31.03 patch some of them are still too long
3) Inferruption of long animation skills SHOULD'N cancel the whole dmg of those skills (maybe cutting it in half?)

4) Finishing touch shall be treated as separated skill or at least Sage should be able to cast it after few other skills (for example after rift chain)

5) Illusion Compression and Void Gateways shall be treated as summons so Sage can leave it on casting place and continue fighting instead of geting locked in long animation OR allow those two to be precasted before Rift Chain.

6) Rift chain shall make Sage disseapear from the minimap as well as "hide" all pets in i-frame phase - Sage skills are too slow/unprotected and its a death sentence if opponent knows where he will land. Currently after players got used to fighting vs sage and are waiting to grab him or cc right after he appears its almost game breaking issue for Sage. Sage cant compete with any grab class and most fast pieced ones.

8) MUCH more PVE FG-s/SA are needed as Sage fights at melee range and mobs break its combo/crucial dmg skills too often

9) Gravity Rift is much too long and does very small dmg in pve and pvp

10) Form Shift shall be activated faster, and its flow shall be activated by pressing LMB at the end of the skill so it wont trigger when unwanted or wont activate Athor's Thorn

11) Realm of Anquish does pitiful dmg

12) Spatial Fissure really needs faster animation AND FG (both in pvp and pve)

 

Overall:
1) Most sage skills shall be enabled to be precasted AND the execution of those shall be done immediately after coming out of the rift.

2) "After rift SA" shall be active without cd restriction and it shall be 2 sec long.

3) Sage cant be viseable while using rift chain.

 

Update 31.03 improvements:

- the best one is Rift Chain speed up (little one) and good decrease of stamina usage and CD - but lingering SA should be longer (up to 2 sec)

- pvp wise SAGE still lacks protection, he can kite (not as good as sorc) but he cant apply dmg and because of mid range of most skills he is still too unprotected compared to other (good in pvp) classes. In my opinion the best solution would be longet SA after Rift Chain.

 

What are ur thoughts ?

I can see your point on most of these issues, I just hit level 62 2k sp on him as I enjoy the playstyle quiet a bit.  Problem is, Succ Wiz is broken, and PA doesn't want a repeat of this on yet another class. Here's my take away from your comment and the dozens of hours I've put in so far.

 

Rift Chain (Shift + Direction) - Stamina use is fine, given the distance traveled compared to sorc if changes are made, the 300 per use makes sense. However, the SA when coming out should last 1.5 to 2 seconds and not clear when releasing or casting another skill. It's obvious this was similarly designed to function as Succ Wiz TP and instacast, however at its current state, is just not good in many PVP situations due to being visible on minimap. This has to be fixed OR reduce Stamina use to 150 to allow an actual safe retreat mechanic. As it stands the Stamina cost and SA don't work well due to being easily tracked,  followed and cc'd the second you're out. Only class where kiting is almost a guaranteed self cc due to its slow nature, easy track ability (minimap) and lack of linger or SA carryover. 

 

Void Gateways (Shift+Rmb) - 25% faster cast speed OR allow for pre-cast

 

Finishing Touch - Quickslotable as well as castable after both Prime and Absolute Spatial Collapse. 

 

Illusion Comprehension (Shift + Q) - Increase vacuum strength OR FG OR allow precast and movement while activated. Currently lack of protection combined with weaker pull AND noncancelability is a guaranteed CC.

 

Gravity Rift (Shift + E) - Increase 10hp regain to 20hp

 

Realm Of Anguish (s+rmb) - Needs reviewed. For a 20 sec cd ability this does almost no damage. At first I thought it might be reverse split damage, but I'm using it now at Nagas and it's not taking ANY damage off.

 

Aside from that, I personally find the class fairly evenly balanced. Fix Riftchain and the Ebuff SA issue and I'd still be somewhat content if everything else remained the same...It however could use at least one other FULLY protected damage ability, one more HP Regen skill and a reliable Stun/Stiff. I feel going beyond this, will cause him to reach Succ Wiz levels of brokeness and given the 2 awa skills are usually the more decent skills, I'm sure we will get that protection and possible heals from a rabam that are sorely needed.

My feeback:

 

- Love the idea of dissapearing with Rift Chain

- We definetly need more HP life steal

- Increase damage to Real of Anguish (cast time and activation is too much)

- Ilussion compression too much cast time for little utility or damage.

 

Besides that I think I will main a sage. I love the concept theme of space/time master.

My feedback:

- I think the class is pretty good the way it is. If you speed the class up even more or start adding lots of life steal I think we start getting into Succ Wiz levels of busted.

- However, changing the HP on Gravity Rift (Shift+E) from 10HP to 20/25/30HP would be a nice change without making it overpowered.

- I personally think the 1 sec lingering SA after Prime: Rift Chain is fine. If you were going to change it, I think anything more than 2 sec would be extremelly overpowered especially after the CD/stamina changes on the skill. 1 sec is fine, 1.5 sec would be great if they could do something like that but I personally think it's fine the way it is.

- I think it would be nice to be able to hold Spatial Collapse (S+F) for the frontal.

- Being able to split Ator's Energy (S+LMB) and Atomagia like you can with Spatial Collapse (S+F) and Finishing Touch would be pretty nice.

 

Overall I think the class is extremely fun to play and I'm really looking forward to the rabams, awakened skills for succession and what the awakening is going to be. Also, I'm only talking from my point of view from the things I personally do (PvE, 1v1s and RBF) so my opinions more than likely don't line up with someone who noderwars or does siege.

overall very nice class with good lore and fantastic visuals, do have fun with the gameplay..

Ofc we don't want make Sage a "OP class but the casting time of certain skill's is just terrible and I didn't mention the dmg jet...PvP issues what is already known and still not applying on ground differences or when the monster is next to a wall.(Atomagia)


I think 2 skills with SA and 1 with FG are not equal to other character gameplay's.

For what do we have Rift chain?..to “disappear” or just move... ppl can easily track Sage and kill him with much faster casting speed's and a lot of more FG and SA ... that's not right, right ?

Sage is a good class to practice your grab on..


Void Gateway's... not save mode nor can't be cancelled ? With all the fast classes, Sage is useless.

Plaid most of them, never did use like 270 HP pots, per 1h session Grinding 

...I did but that was Ranger with Mana pots :D

Honestly i agree with you in every term, i would only like to add one thing to the sage.

The 200% rage meter issue. i know probably thats for pvp only, but i would suggest to increase the cap from 100% to 200% by default to the sage the rage meter, except the refilling of the bar would be much slower (auto regen and not transported ones) A skill like that wich is locked behind a rage bar over cap like that is a huge issue for solo playing and doing grinding. So hes rage bar sgould be set to 200% by default in exchange for lower regen time. Second that i would like to ad it is he needs HP recovery skills, self healing etc, and frontal defense as well. The prismatic shield is not god enough, lets say he shield could heal him while he is holding it and he recover HP as well, if mobs are hitting him or players while he is using teh barrier he will recieive some % hp per damage dealt on it. Third. hes mana recovery. he is runnign out realy fast of mana, and teh recovery even with hitting enemies are just sorry for the word, but its ridiculisly low. he needs more mana regen by default in and out of combat. Drasitcly.
