Like said in title, it has to get rework. It's the mostly pointless stat in the game. Even with the new crystals we got, it's pointless. I can easily hit 675 DR on my Warrior in Succession with all buffs without using Cadry, but even with that, anyway class running in human damage will melt you in no time.
Even in PVE, Damage Reduction is pointless.
It's just insane. During the last Bal, Pearl Abyss said they'll rework it. Where is the rework now ?
idc about pvp but in pve i added 34 monster dmg reduction and 5or7% reduction (dont remember) and i barely noticed a diff on the hard hits. The smaller hits felt weaker but the threshold for 1-2shots didn't change much. It probably makes sence but at 400dp i expected more. But might just be a case of "it is what it is"!
You do not get "melted" unless you're getting hit by multiple people or on the ground because you got CC'd after you made a mistake.
The problem isn't DR it is the fact 20 people can hit you from render range.
Also, you're playing succession warrior in PvP. The turtle class with gaps in its damage, slow punishable FGs, and no healing. Now imagine how awk valk, succession zerker, succ/awk drak feels.
Your problem is not "I don't have enough DR" it is succ warrior not having big heals or utility for more than small group fight PvP.
and in PvE please remove your boots and gloves and tell me DR doesn't matter.
but DR actually works on true DR classes?
