When over 90% people spam R button?

I just wanted to try out bosses in between grinding. Nope, I have to start mount simulator again.

I also tryed to actually follow lore but speaking turtles with silly voices is just too much for me.. I guess that was funny when I was 5-years old kid. Even if it had adult theme I cant get over with all this weaboo stuff.

How about invest time into grind areas, itemization, class balance etc.. That is what 99% of players are investing their time on. Not on quests.

Edit: On good side I dont miss anything for not doing these. So at least it doesn't offer must have benefits like that garbage Abyss One offered. I will gladly skip whole expansion.

It will always be hardcore grinding. Even if you add 100 000 quests, it's still hardcore grind because quests don't offer anything. They are just waste of time just like now. 

Btw it's grind in every game. 

Brand new diablo 4 is literally skipping story and grinding levels in one single dungeon called Ruins of Eridu. That's how I got lvl 100 easily before I fed up with game. I might check it later when season comes.

Grind in wow? 99% of time you clear same content you already cleared once to gear up toons. 

The rewards from finishing msq are actually really good.

The additional light orbs needed to actually do boss rush(and not be in a wheel chair)

The rewards for doing your first kill(plus end of week rewards) of each rank 1-5 with the light orbs is like diving into scrooge mcducks gold vault even compared to grinding great hexe hours.

4 weeks of 30 minute time investment doing that will get you(close, if not fully) your 500 embers of hongik.That saves you over 10b on crystalized despair and that is on top of alll the other rng drops. Im over 5b in crystals alone at current prices

...that said, actually doing to MSQ takes 9 hours even spamming R. I might have taken a bit longer than others since I also tabbed out or went afk to do chores during cutscenes. Its actually terrible. 

I have read all story in this game up until LotML. MoEW+Magnus broke me though. We did all of MoEW just for Jordine to change his clothes and become a slightly different flavor of evil.. and then Magnus goes full Warlords of Draenor and drops past Jordine on us just so he can hide in a valley? Instead of just having given actual Jordine character development in MoEW?(I really liked MoEW Jordine)

And then the entire Magnus storyline was stupid and irrelevent and miserable to participate in.

Im also refusing to participate in new story in protest of unskippable cutscenes. (and when they are skippable, being forced to hold R for 5 seconds and then click a prompt)

That decision shows nothing but contempt for players and player choice, and negatively affects us even long after we have experienced the story of a zone.

So yeah, @OP, I feel ya. I get that this is "their region" and theyre very proud of it... but you cant force people to enjoy your story. We are 2 examples of how people will just reject it.

If they want people to enjoy their story then they need to create quality content that people actually enjoy, and allow people to do so at their own pace.

When they have to compel people to experience it with rewards and forced scene viewing they have already lost...

and if they have already lost, then why not put that dev time towards something players actually want

I will say though, I think that the rewards as well as the boss rush content itself makes spamming R through the MSQ worth the time. Yes its 9 hours but much of it you can just watch a movie or something. Maybe do it casually on an alt. The bosses are kind of fun and a nice break from the usual grind.

at least few people on this forum care about black desert lore and land of morning light quest is probably best quest in black desert, you can see better development with npc and hostile npc i put the quest at same level than in first guild war and tera, of course if you spam r you will se nothing, but if instead to just grind, you spend like 10 hours to questing you can see their quest is at least good like single player game questing

so you can see with land of morning light and magnus they try to improve the questing part, not just go to kill 150 orange dots and travel 500 km to valencia and back to velia just to annoy you

I enjoy questing for the most part, when the stories are interesting enough, and/or the dialogue is clever enough (wit/humour/etc). Like most things though it's entirely personal. PA are big on saying 'there's something for everyone' in Black Desert, questing is a part of that something, a big part for some players.

I appreciate PA's added effort of late to improve the delivery of their stories through questing, and hope they continue to work and improve on it moving forward into the future.

I play the game mainly for the questing as well as the story experience and I enjoy that a lot. I even read the descriptions in the Knowledge tab about most NPC and the Adventure Log tab as well. The world would make no sense without the flavor of the content for me.

its simple, PA is right, BDO is a good grinding and lifeskill game. So they got players that like that locked in. Now they are trying to expand into more branches to aquire more players.

Dungeons, Coop-Stuff, Quest, Discovery and Minigames.

Unfortunately PA doesnt understand the playerbase and the limitations their own engine (maybe its just a western Problem). And they stuck in a pickle there:

They cant only focus on expanding for broader playerbase. They HAVE to cater to already existing base or there will be problems. So they release only bits and halfdone producs to satify everybody, but its impossible the way they do it (the understanding the playerbase thing).

Sadly this expansion they decided to only do Dungeon, Lifeskill and Quest stuff. Grinders dont like it, cuz R spam and Boss Rush is rng hell, timegated AND you have to w8 a week for the rewards, and well... lifeskills!

Im pretty sure PA hoped that the grinder will enjoy the boss rush BUT, they TIMEGATED it? and forgot Iframes arent relyable together with the visual feedback of the attack cones :/ (might only be Western problem idk, but even tho we cash in more than KR so idk again). On top you make NO MONEY you have to w8 a week for the stuff.

Im sure it all comes due to splitting the work load on everything so only halfassed stuff comes out. BUT (im sure PA agrees) since they have big pockets they can endure so many L's and at some point the stuff will be good enough just by sheer amount of the halfcooked content.

And i have to repeat myself, i think its a good plan ( i hate it cuz im a grinder)

But if they stay catering to grinder and lifeskill players, a new  game with slightly better grind/lifeskill will take a chunk of the players away. BUT if there is simple more stuff to do in the game, the chunk will be smaller and possibly protion will come back cuz no new game will ever have enough content at release.

Actually I enjoy reading the story... once.

After that, yeah I skip; no need to read X times the same things. But yeah the quests are a monotony-breaker content. It varies from the rest of the game that can be quite repetitive.

P.S.: (spoil) I wanna know what happens to Jordine next...
