[Suggestion] Insurance Crystal – Not ‘crystal insurance’

Suggestions/Comments: 
  • A Crystal that is destroyed before any other. It is sacrificed if a crystal was going to be destroyed. One insurance crystal per crystal saved. You do not save them all (as suggested with crystal insurance)
  • So if you were unlucky or red, and carried only 2 insurance crystals, and you lost 4 crystals, you will still lose 4 crystals in total. 2 insurance and 2 others.
  • You make the choice of how many of your slot you are willing to give up, if you want 4 insurance crystals , you have to put 4 in your crystals bag, and place them on your crystal transfusion table.
  • This allows people that wish to run better crystals, but are too worried of losing something that costs 1-4 billion, too scarifice a slot by filling it with an insurance crystal.

This offers a benefit as some people will not run higher grade crystals in case they lose them, Be it game issues or skill. It would be a fair trade off for them to give up an extra crystals slot so they can also safly run what they wish....

...and it's RNG if they get value from the insurance crystal… what if you where going to lose a Rebellious? Then you are up, but what if you where going to lose an agility crystals? then you are down.

 

Market impact

-Some people will still wish to risk is all and may die and lose things, as we have now, this keep crystals prices high (min-maxers, want all the slot for stats).

-Some people refuse to run higher crystals in zone they could lose. So they never lose crystals.

-Some people will already be run higher costs crystals and may change to using the insurance crystals in there build.

The hope is, market values removed by the last factor is replace by the sale of insurance crystals.

Reasonable cost, so it does not replace filler crystals as a cheap option (E.g. No advantage to red players) 50 mill min cap to 250 max cap

Crystal Stats? None!

How to obtain?

Maybe you get shards as a reward from RBF(boosting RBF rewards), NW, boss rush? And maybe it takes heating up 50 shards to make a crystal l(number of shard is irrelevant at this point),  that you can then use or sell

Naw better solution.  Crystal breakage should be on release not on death.  If you release to node with a tear or you rez on the spot with a tear your crystals can not break.  If you release to node without a tear then you run the risk of crystal breakage.  Same thing should go for Gear Downgrades while red.  Allow us to protect crystals breakage and gear down grades with pearls.  

Trade items should still break on death however.

May be a 'better' idea but I don’t think PA wanna change up how many crystals brake on average, so preventing the braking of one crystals needs to be replaced with another.

Been a lot of suggestion on this topic, and they go nowhere. I’m try to think within PA limits and scope, how PA may worry about impacts and changes to the markets and rewards. That has to be taken into account.

...And building a suggestion that offers added content while addressing an issues, rather than just changing what was.

While the breaking of crystals suck  i can see why its a part of the game. One change that is a must have imo is to exclude the 5bil crystals from it. Thats just too much of backslash from one death.

I think its a good idea. Clever in its design, use of existing systems and ease of implementation.

I was one of those players who geared up using only cheap crystals and often none at all. As I was progressing through new zones quickly, there was always risk of death in learning new areas. Maybe some mob has a one shot ability in the next grind spot, maybe there is some increased damage mechanic that I wouldnt know how to counter. Granted this was back before crystal templates, things are a bit different now.

But I still imagine that an option to mitigate some of my losses on death would have encouraged me to use better crystals.

Now as an overgeared player way over the AP soft caps, swapping out some of my less useful crystals to protect me from losing a 5b crystal(Girin's Tear) would be a very attractive option. Especially since the only things that even kill me anymore are falling through the world(doesnt break crystals thank god) and disconnect/crashes- and losing an expensive crystal to that would be very tilting.

Random crystal gloating story. The only crystal I used in my weapon for most of the game was the cheap 5AP crystal(think they used to cost like 1mil?) so I bought like a hundred of them at some point because I never wanted to have a supply issue..

... PA decided to make those crystals worth 200mil+ with the new expansion. PA is the coolest guy ever. Ty PA 😎💰

Was thinking some more and... Well at the moment if someone loses a 2bill + crystal, they may send in a ticket for recovery (not questioned asked, 2 times a year)

Well, if there was this option, does that mean less tickets for Staff to deal with, especially them ones that may be outside of the 2 crystal rule? Worth thinking about.

It had been on my mind, not so much for me (i grind in very safe areas, not a big grinder), but I do see streamers losing crystals cus of disconnects, errors and the lesser ‘fed to mobs’. At least this would be an option to counter all that .
