I play since the beggining quiting a few times. Season and tuvalas are great for new players to learn the game and enchants. But meanwhile ppl are grinding high end spots making 400M an hour. People at intermediate levels can't benefit from season or high end spots leaving us in the purgatory. Enchanting system is also unfair making only 5% lucky ppl benefit. Maybe im frustated i grind a whole week for the potion and didnt drop a piece and broke 4 tri ogre rings making me a noob due poor luck. I feel im two years of grind behind. Maybe i need to afk fish all year or just quit the game entirely.
the next piece upgrade for low geared players costs maybe what, 2 billion at most per piece?
the next piece upgrade for me cost at least 70billions, that's the cheapest piece for me to replace
afk fishing doesn't make you any money, only do it if you are going for mystical fish for the God of Fishing title
this game isn't afk friendly like it was once before, with manos processing, there is no reason to leave the game on overnight anymore.
If you don't enjoy actively playing it then it's not a game for you, it's a repetitive progression based MMO, not your typical WOW afk in town 5mins a day and do dungeons for an hour a month kind of game
The game isn't bad for casuals neither, a casual player would just run around wear costumes and RP with others
The casuals you are referring to are probably the ones who don't want to put in the time to get gear but still want to compete with others who do put in the game.

I think the game is very casual friendly. I actively play around a hour or two per day. Sometimes I don't play at all but just sit in town afk to get rewards for being logged in. I'm currently around 630gs with this playstyle. Believe it or not, PA is quite generous with their events. They tend to give good rewards to help you with progression.
Back in the day I played Lineage 2, which was super hardcore in comparison to BDO. There was no way you could play a hour per day and get any were the game. I agree with the player above me, bdo is a grind based progression mmo. Its not like wow/gw2 etc. If you don't like it then the game might not be for you. I personally prefer the Korean grinder mmo over the theme park mmos. But that is just me.

That is the exact frustrating experience Pearl Abyss intended you have to. Now they are just circling you like a bunch of vultures hoping you will PAY your way out of it.

True words here. PA feeds off frustrating their playerbase I kid you not. They know a frustrated aggravated customer is more likely to impulse buy than a happy content customer. This why I will never recommend BDO to another person because the game is not designed to be enjoyable it designed to frustrate you so you spend money. Only reason I stay around is because I'm part of the 5% that at 650+ GS so I don't need to stree about my gear being good enough to do PVE or kill other players.
One of these days PA is going to need to change this game so it less frustrating and more rewarding to play, but I feel like PA would sooner shut the game down and abandon it than do that because they have multiple sources of income now an new games being developed. So when BDO does start to fail they don't need to stress about overhauling it to stay afloat as a company they can quickly just cut out the bleeding income and move onto the next source without care.

Then the white knight like to pretend Pearl Abyss and the whales don't bring it upon themselves.
What causes the 100,000's of complaints against the enchant system?
The gear disparity?
The RNG?
Breaking 4 TRI ogres is not even really that unlucky, that's just bellow avarage(3.3 is the avarage with softcap fs).
I had 8 failed TET acessory enchaments in a row (with soft cap fs), but there are people with 10+ fails in row (though I can't confim whether they used proper fs).
bdo is not the type of mmorpg if you want to accomplish something in a short period of time. BDO is not a fast food mmorpg.
the type of mmo for non-casual is already rare. Please don't try to a ruin the game for those who love it.
Anyway
You can easily play it like an animal crossing and some pepper interaction from time to time.
You just don't have to set yourself a goal that exceeds your possibilities.
Not everyone can become a surgeon.

Well I have no intention of becoming a "surgeon" it's just that depending on the quality of end-game PVE, if there's things for me to do, I might have fun.
600gs player here (around 1,500 hours gameplay in 2+ years where more less the 1/3 of them were AFK).
I mainly made my gear from Dark Rift bosses, Anniversary giveaways, Event giveaways, Daily log in Silver + Attendance rewards, Imperial cooking, Casual grinding (never more than 2 hours) and almost zero Life skilling.
To tell you the truth, there is no difference between being level 1 and being 600gs 62 level player.
As to why it is because you will always end up getting 1 shotted from a super geared players, "even" in FW state or in SA (if you play Maehwa like i do).
Be it open world or RBF, you will always get rekted in PvP due to the major gear differences (AP brackets - DP brackets), the 1.000+ euro GPU cards who can hit up to 300 FPS and make x2 times the DPS you make with your 120 FPS and let's not forget the the super high upload speed with zero delay on their Grab skills.
So from my point of view if you want to survive in BDO grind spots, you have to pay for a good PC, live in a city that has good internet conection, and most importantly swap your credit card (because TET PvP accessories and PEN items cost a fortune).
Just a tip to the new forum users.
Don't ever take the Catastigma guy/girl seriusly.
I know him/her for 2+ years and a lot of times he likes to compare BDO with real life BS arguments.
One of the things you will see him type is this "Balance is a myth and never existed".
-.-"
Now if you are going to argue with me or if you think that i am wrong, i won't sit here and keyboard fight with you (i am looking at the people with 100+ posts in 1 month).
Have a nice day, peace! ;)
