Awakening Woosa isn't working. Here are my solutions...

Let me start by saying that Awakening Woosa...well Woosa in general... has perhaps the best aesthetics in the game. I love the weapon choices, the effects, and combat style even. I also love how the pre-awakening and awakening work together and doesn't feel like the pre-awakening kit was ignored when developing awakening.

But, from a mechanical perspective Awakening Woosa simply isn't working. Not a single content creator I've seen has had much of anything positive to say about her, just about every PvP video on YouTube is only of Succession, those of Awakening are almost always to show how bad it is. My friend even completely deleted his Woosa after how disappointed he was in the class. No class' state should make anyone want to do that, especially for a spec that the community has been waiting on for as long as it has had to to be released.

The good news, I think, is that it won't take too much to put this class on the right path. For example, I believe Awakening Woosa has all the damage it needs, it's just that her abilities as they are don't let her use it efficiently... which is why none of my suggestions for Awakening Woosa will talk about her damage numbers - I don't think she needs any buffs there; in fact the last thing I want to see is for the Devs to just throw more damage at the problem.

So with that, I first want to run through some Quality of Life buffs Woosa desperately needs, then go into what I believe are the mechanical changes Woosa should have in order to make her both an enjoyable class, much more viable in PvE / PvP, and a more unique class that actually leans into her traps / unique playstyle the Dev's boasted about when they announced her awakening kit.

Disclaimer: I'm just some guy - I also currently don't have siege level gear at the moment, so if someone at that level fundamentally disagrees with me and thinks she's fine I'd love to hear about it - but I also don't think a class should only be viable at end game gear.

Part 1 - Movement

I think for the most part Awakening Woosa's movement is fine. As a ranged class she doesn't need to move like a rat, and I think Yangban Step x2 > Netherstrike > Yangban Step x2 > Butterfly Step > Repeat provides plenty of burst movement.

But I do think it's currently a little clunky, so my improvements are as follows:

1. Awakening Butterfly step shouldn't immediately rocket you towards the ground. I don't see why a 'flight' skill should lack the 'flight'. Even a gentle glide down instead of just a straight up boulder mode would be fine, but really it's just extremely strange to me that pre-awakening keeps you in the air for nearly the entire thing while awakening immediately goes down.

2. Add a longer fall damage buff to Butterfly step. It's also currently bugged in the Awakening version where if you hit the ground during the spin you'll take fall damage.

3. I'd also like to see a 'dismount' flight activated when used at higher heights like Lahn's basic flight. It can be something where you basically go straight down from where the skill ends -- I understand this class isn't Lahn -- but literally anything to replace having to go into the default falling animation is done would be greatly appreciated.

4. Yanban / Flitting Step needs better connection to follow-up skills. It seems the RP Animations are taking precedent and that's just not okay. Especially when when using Flitting Step backwards, many times you'll find yourself locked in the kneeling animation for more than a second before you can use a forward facing skill.

5. Perilous Waltz needs to either activate faster or make you travel farther. In a PvP context you're not going to be getting away from anyone using this, and you're just inviting someone to grab you if you're going to use it in close combat range.

Part 2 - Combat Animations

Awakening Woosa is slow. And that's fine, for the most part, because she's a class with extremely long range and potentially high damage output. But, right now she's simply *too* slow, and too many of her skills lock you in place so playing Awakening Woosa right now feels like you don't have control over your character.

So my solutions for this are as follows:

1. Flow: Soul Shock should let you rotate the camera and cast it in a different direction just like Flow: River's End lets you do.

2. There's no reason Bloodsari Flower should root you in place for 3 seconds before the buff activates, especially while unprotected. And there's especially no reason why it also roots you in place for a full second before letting you use Yangban/Flitting Step or 3 seconds before letting you just walk forward. Also especially for a party buff you're gonna constantly miss a lot of people who dash off before the buff activates. I'm going to suggest it only be 2 seconds for the full animation, and that you're not rooted in place while using it. I'm also going to suggest matching the healing to that of Spring Blossom.

3. Blooming Death's windup / first hit should just be faster.

4. Mark of the Moon also has the same large unprotected gap at the beginning of the skill which I think should just be removed for full FG or activated much quicker.

5. Mark of the Moon's 100% BSR roots you in place for far too long if you want to do anything other than Yanban/Flitting Step

6. Soul Shower also has entirely too long of a windup animation that should be made faster

7. The second hit of Nether Blast is entirely too slow, it should activate twice as fast at least.

8. I think the amount of forward movement you do with the Life Lure > Seocheon Field > Bloom Deluge > Bloomburst > Soul Cleanse combo, and even just when holding Soul Cleanse, is far too much. I get we don't want another class that can just sit on a rooftop and rain down hell like Succesion Witch/Wizard/Ranger and Archer can, but I also don't think I shouldn't be able to use anything without immediately running myself off a roof/platform.

9. Bloomburst shouldn't have a slow animation after Flow: River's End or Flow: Soul Shock or Flow: Death's Proclamation or Sahee's Descent...and Bloom Deluge shouldn't have a slow cast after Moonlit Blast...ie neither of these skills should have a slow animation when using them after any skill.

10. Speaking of verticality, Blooming Death and Soul Shower need to interact with it better. I'm not suggesting 90 degree drops like rooftop combat, but any steep slope should be traversible by the skill.

Part 3 - Basic mechanical changes

I think for the most part Awakening Woosa's skills work together well, but outside of what I'm going to suggest in part 4 I think a couple changes would be greatly appreciated.

1. Blooming Death should probably just be Frontal Guard for the full animation, which would also require changing the core skill to something else... I suggest Bloom Deluge. But especially given how wide the unprotected gap is - it feels essentially required to take it as your core skill in every scenario. If we speed up the animation of the pre-FG part of the skill though this may not be necessary.

2. Mark of the Moon (along with it's Flow: Death's Proclamation) in my opinion should become a targeted range skill like how Witch/Wizard Lava/Poison Pools operate; either on a target or activate at max range if you're not locked onto something. Currently there's little to no good time to use it in PvP especially given how long it takes to activate; its unique marking mechanic becomes almost completely unusable. I also personally think the number of marks should be upped to 5.

3. I think Mark of the Moon's healing should be spread out among all hits instead of right at the very end of the skill. Especially in lower-end PvE spots you'll be hard pressed to get any healing out of this skill as everything will die before you get to the 3rd hit.

4. I believe that Netherblast's Attack #2 and Flow: Death's Proclamation should gain the Flow: Bloom passive effect.

5. Take the Spacebar input out of Perilous Waltz. There's nothing that overlaps with S+F key inputs, so why have it as an additional option when all it does is frustrate everyone whos trying to run with a weapon out and climb something?

6. Lateral Soul Cleanse should be a PvE iFrame.

Part 4 - A Seocheon Field Rework

This is something I already suggested in the Woosa Discord, and at least no one's given any negative feedback to it - but as it stands now the 'traps' of Awakening Woosa feel like a complete afterthought of the kit, and they're currently almost entirely useless outside of endgame grind spots where the mobs will actually live long enough to be hit by them. Personally I feel like if the Dev's want to highlight the uniqueness of this skill it should actually be useful, and Awakening Woosa should actually be able to lean into the skill.

So, I'm suggesting the following changes to the skill and it's interactions throughout the kit:

1. Hasten the arming time of the Seocheon Field flowers to 1 second. Too many times when grinding will I find a flower sitting around after the pack has died, completely unused. And in PvP they currently take so long to arm it's near impossible to have anyone actually hit one unless you not only set them up 5 seconds in advance but also stick them in a hallway where the terrain forces someone to pass over them

2. Lengthen the time the Seocheon Field flowers stay on the field to at least 15 seconds, if not longer. There's simply not enough time between the time it takes to arm to (without my next suggestions) only being able to place 2 down in a single cast to actually feel like you're trapping anything.

3. Slightly increase the AOE size of the Seocheon Field flower explosion, and make them auto detonate when the timer runs out instead of just disappear.

4. Change the Bound effect of the Seocheon Field flowers to a Stun Effect.

5. Change Seocheon Field into a passive effect. We could keep it's active effect too but for 'balancing' I think the amount of flowers you could generate with the following suggestions doesn't make also having the active necessarily necessary. Instead of throwing down two flowers as a standalone skill, I believe they should be automatically planted when activating the following skills:
     A. Blooming Death: 4 Flowers are planted in the line where the skill was used.
     B. Bloomburst: 3 Flowers in a triangle pattern are planted after Bloomburst erupts
     C. Moonlit Blast: 5 Flowers in a pentagon pattern around the Woosa are planted after the skill ends
     D. Life Lure: 3 Flowers in a triangle pattern are planted alongside the main flower. The explosion of Life Lure should also automatically detonate any Seocheon Field flowers hit by its AOE.

6. Bloom Deluge should command any armed and undetonated Seocheon Field flowers within a radius of the Woosa about the size of Moonlit Blast to rise and fire off beams alongside the 5 flowers automatically created by the Bloom Deluge skill. This will cause those Seocheon Field flowers to disarm / disappear... i.e. trading the explosion effect for the laser beams.

7. The Flow: Bloom explosion should detonate any armed and undetonated Seocheon Field flowers it hits.

I firmly believe these changes to Seocheon Field will greatly increase the number of tactics Awakening Woosa can employ, allowing a greater sense of control when interacting with the environment around her. I also believe these changes will also open up many more combo opportunities, both defensively and offensively, that will make interacting with her slower kit much more feasible in a fast paced PvP environment that BDO has. I also don't believe implenting everything I suggested will make Woosa a 'broken' or unbearable class to play against. To me, she'll still be a slow and methodical combat style class, one that can be easily countered by classes that can get in her face quickly, especially those with grabs. But at least with the changes I suggested I believe she'll have options to deal with those situations, and when left alone at range or allowed to setup her area she'll be devastating.

I can't get through the awakening quest. It locks up after I'm told to "Take out the fan that I'm used to" and then he says "Plumblossom!" and the music starts and I'm frozen.

Turn off gamepad ui and use a kbm for that part of the quest.

lmao, i got instreated in the class and created a trial version to play. Unplayable...

straight up unplayble in PVP.

She is range which is nice but the skills animation is just very poor and slow. The time is takes before she starts to deal the damage just from one skill is too long. Also, for a non grab class... she having limited way to CC and being this slow is extreamly bad. Also, she has like very less protected CCs because, If PA made her this slow and gave her no grab, then it just fair to give her few(+4) protected CCs and making most of her skills to be protected as well.

I don't know what you guys think of her but i legit deleted her in less then 1 hr permanently...

Every day I am surprised more than BDO users. They really never cease to amaze me. Do you have one of the most cancer classes in the game for 1v1 PVP and want it fixed? What do you want? A mix of Striker, Lahn and Mistyc? They have a trap that if you fall takes away 200% of your life. Don't be silly and learn to play

anything else that children want here?

Do you want a shield too and guard 360?

Do you want +50% speed on all skill?

But I will make a greater effort only this time.  I swear spend 2 days analyzing this answer of yours. and the only thing I can tell you and without intending to offend you seriously. DO YOU REALLY HAVE EXPERIENCE PLAYING BDO? This is an extremely serious question. Do you have experience? because on other occasions you have answered me things so absurd that I do not know how to answer you seriously. If you knew that the Awk Zerker is the most unprotected class in the game followed by the ninja AWK right? I dare to say that the AWK ZERKER has 20% less protection than the AWK Ninja since it only has 2 FG and 2 SA which are 1 moving and 1 static.
