Crystals Breaking upon death

With all of the recent QoL updates to the game, I believe one of them was overlooked. Crystal destruction on death (Not going red in PvP, just regular PvE deaths) has only become more and more expensive to the point of it being ridiculous with people sometimes losing billions in crystals. This is still parterned with the fact that BDO does not have the greatest servers, and issues can happen which cause your character to die unfairly, costing you a ton of money. A great point which is always brought up is that crystals used to be much cheaper and it wasn't really a problem before. I feel that the penalty for dying could easily be something else or just removed completely at this point.

It had been so long since I died in a PvE setting that when I went to check my crystals, one of the cheap ones had broke."Wait, where's this crystal? Ah thats right, they still break huh..." If it had been a Rebellious crystal, that would have been a good 1.3bil down the drain.

Money has gotten easier to get as time goes on, but the time spent is still there. You're already grinding for gear, grinding for caphras, grinding for potion drops, grinding for all of these different things. I just feel that maybe they can make crystals a bigger goal to achieve a stronger crystal, while also removing this old outdated way the game works.

There doesn't really need to be some artificial "thrill" of grinding for hours at a spot only to have some server hiccup or getting stuck on some terrain on the ground causing to lose a large sum of silver. If  I wanted some death penalty I'd go play some hardcore character, or a mode in a different game the resets your progress.

I have said it a million times, Crystal breakage was fine when crystals were mostly an afterthought in gear and they were only green/blues we have now and not even all of those.  The replacement cost was 30-50k for green ones and 500k for blue ones back when 1,500k-2,000k was the average hours, breaking 4 crystals then if they were the most expensive would be worse case scenario 1 hour at the average silver income rate.  Right now the average hour is 500m you can break 4-5 billion in crystals in a single death,  you can break crystals that cannot be replaced, hard to replace, or are tedius to replace in addition to breaking a crystal worth 1.3-2b and 4 of those crystals can break at a time.  If you break 4 crystals on death and it's your expensive ones that is 5 billion silver sometimes more that can be gone in a heartbeat, it will take 10 hours of grinding to recover from that.  If you have multiple deaths due to lag like the most recent server instability you can lose 100 hours of income.

Crystal breakage made sense when it was cheap and less than an hour's work to replace, crystal breakage when it can negate over a month's worth of work is dumb.

I agree but it can't be made hastily : right now mob feeding may be the last possible action when some rude players come and grind at the same place than you, without any word nor interaction. At least, these jerks have to either take a risk with their crystals or reduce their grind efficiency with low cost crystals.

As usual, the whole system needs a rework, with temporary but efficient penalties. But crystal breakage is indeed excessive now.

After this change  BIS crystals will become worthless in 2-3 days. But they can rework system any good ideas ? IMO there should be an option which will make out crystals unbreakable  for example by using same crystals + some mats u can create "protection item" for your crystal for lets say 2 weeks. Otherwise crystals will end like 99% of lightstones worthless.

Pearl Abyss could make a consumable item similar to the Crystalinds or Complete Crystalbinds that TERA had, which protected your crystals against breaking when you died.

If they changed crystal breakage on respawn instead of on death we could protect our crystals with tears.  No tear breakage might occur, tear and to node no breakage, 1 tear on the spot crystal breakage might occur, 2 tears on the spot no crystal breakage.
