Fix Archer's overlapping key bindings and stance requirements. (Proposed key binding changes)

Archer is a really fun class, but there are several skills that require either Crossbow or Greatbow to use or have an overlapping keybind which prevents their use. In the tables below I will outline the current state of this issue and suggest a new layout which changes a few bindings and the Steady Breath skill to be a forward movement skill, I believe this would make the class much more fun to play and quite a bit better in both PVE and PVP as you would be able to use abilities freely.

These are the relevant skills that have overlaps or can't be used from quickslot in the wrong stance.

Key Bind Skill Overlap
Shift + Q Spear of Slyvia Double Tap & Wrath of Nature
Shift + E Full/Grand Bloom Earth Shatter
↓ + E Piercing Light None
RMB Light's Path None
Shift + RMB Luthraghon's Call Bolt of Radiance
F Low Sweep Earth Kick

The goal is to find a set of bindings that alleviates these overlaps and allows Archer to use any skill whenever needed instead of requiring a weapon swap or animation cancel.

The solution: Remove stance requirements and rebind the following abilities.

Bold: New proposed Key Bind.

Itallics: Needs to be made usable from Crossbow/Greatbow.

Proposed Key Bindings:

Key Bind Skill Key Bind

Skill

Q Spear of Slyvia E Earth Shatter
Shift + Q Bolt of Radiance Shift + E Full/Grand Bloom
↑ + Q Steady Breath* (See Note Below) ↑ + E Gaping Darkness
↓ + Q Marked Bloom ↓ + E Piercing Light
F Low Sweep  C Double Tap**
Shift + F Arrow Explosion Shift + C Exhale
←/→ + F Covering Fire ↓ + C Wrath of Nature
↑ + F Mountain Breeze Shift + ←/→/↑ Glide
+ F Uproot Shift + ↓ Zephyr Leap
LMB Shoot RMB Light's Path
Shift + LMB Radiant Explosion Shift + RMB Luthraghon's Call
←/→/↑/↓ + LMB Winged Strike ←/→ + RMB Tactical Strike
↑ + RMB Glissade
↓ + RMB Verdure Clout

* This class doesn't need that many lateral movement skills. Changing the skill to a forward movement skill helps you run from players and get back easier without having to do janky camera movement.

** With these changes manual swapping isn't as necessary and we can bind to C, like succession classes. The idea is that this would only change the functionality of pressing "C" when in a normal state after generic abilities. This wouldn't effect Piercing Cry from Winged Strike.

So with these changes the following skills would have their Key Bindings removed:

Key Bind

Skill Note
Q Watcher It should be Quick Slotted anyway, many classes do not have their buff bound.
Q Storm of Light No one uses. Storm of Light should be removed/reworked. It is very bad.
F Earth Kick Inferior version of Low Sweep. Should be removed or allow Low Sweep to be used with "F" when locked.

The only skills without a Key Binding would be: Watcher, Breath of the Spirit, Ensnare, and Shadebound Beam.

All other skills would be available at anytime from their own unique keybind with no overlap, except skills like Zephyr Leap, Winged Strike, or Piercing Cry those would remain stance specific.

I shared my opinion in the feedback ch of the Archer's DC, I won't rewrite it here, but this IS NOT THE WAY TO GO.

Agree, these suggestions are overall a shit idea, and will dumb down the gameplay of archer.

I don't see how making the class smoother to play is a bad thing. What specifcally do you think is bad about this idea that isn't just "I don't want the class to be easier." I can 100% see reasons to be against the mechanical change I made about Steady Breath, but some of these restrictions (example: Piercing Light) are absolutely unnecessary.

No offence, but it doesn't sound like you even know the basics of the class let alone the advanced playstyle from what you've said so far. Nothing with what you've listed would make Archer in anyway smoother than his current state, rather, this is a fickle take on class changes which would just further confuse his moveset. Instead of pointing at the key bindings and asking them to change to something else entirely, making a whole new set of inputs to memorize, it's easier to know what skills are good for swapping and what is restricted to main/awakening. But it doesn't seem you've done any of that and already you've come with complaints that few apart from the inexperienced would have.

You already got chewed out on the discord so I won't add to that but, please, at least put more time and effort into a class before you start proposing changes like this.

I think you are completely wrong. This would make the class smoother and easier to play, which in turn makes the class more expressive for things that actually matter. Animation cancels can be cool in some games, but Low Sweeping into Awakening into a Luthraghon's isn't mechanically impressive. Nobody is going to jumping out of their chair in excitement for someone "impressively swapping stances." Why would you not be ok with Light's Path being available the same way so you can refresh your AP buff and have the same instant cast?

Also, its not a "Whole new set of inputs to memorize that would make it more confusing" It is litterally 3 changed keybinds and 3 new ones. And 3 of those being ones you most likely have Quick Slotted or Locked anyway. It's not that big of a change, and if this were playable you would learn in 30 minutes. I'm down for suggestions if you think that layout doesn't make sense, but to me it is very intuitive.

I still think this is a good idea, this class has like a 0.1% play rate for a reason. It is clunky and people don't like how it feels, but it can be definitely be fixed. Die hard fans of it will obviously look past these issues, but I kind of like when things are just good. I still enjoy the class, but I really wish more than a handful of people liked it.
