I think the intended mechanic from PA is to have prices bordering on the unreasonably high side, so when they are discounted in some way you feel you're getting a bargain, when in reality you're purchasing them then only at a reasonable price. Thankfully, with this in mind, PA do quite often have sales, discounts and/or coupons available, which enable us all at a bare minimum not to purchase anything at full price.

It is either US-dollars or euros, depending on your region of residence.

My rule of thumb is don't buy temporary stuff or RNG stuff (theiah orbs, cron boxes, etc).

Maids, weight, tent, naderr band, and horse horn are the only necessities.

The cost of entry for a new player is still extremely high. They did atleast made some good changes in that regard. It can be better. 

I agree, but this has been the case since 2016 and all the outcry over the years never changed it, so this won't either. They've made buckets of money and people continue to pay - heck I have become part of the problem since I accepted it will never change.

What I struggle more with is the price:quality ratio; a lot of outfits have small issues, bugs, very strange "hide cape" choices, unaddressed clipping, etc, etc. (or they simply aren't available for newer classes when they're older outfits, but that's not a quality issue). Even having sent more than 5 bug reports about how in Remastered mode the stars on the Stella helmet for DK are permanently black, while they are normally dyable and the ranger one doesn't have this issue, hasn't seen it fixed, no, but even used in promo art where you could clearly see the problem on the image.

They get their money anyway, so they don't give a sh*t. Not even enough to update a lot of outfits to newer classes even when there is demand.

So as much as I agree with you and as sad as it is... I don't see it ever changing, at all. Heck pearl box bundles and steeper sales are the best we will probably ever do.
