You misunderstand something.. Family wide carma means they cannot hide like power rangers in Nouver, they killed everyone after that swapped to the tagged character which wasn't red.

It takes like a minute at Pila Ku Jail to get your Karma back.  Family wide karma is going to make the griefing problem worse not better.  People will be more free to randomly kill people, and the griefers will be able to harass the people who just want to grind far easier.

This is a lose lose lose situation for most players only griefers will benefit.

Well, that was hell of a ride, reading through the forum for the past few hours...

The main thing with the current decision is... both sides have made fair points.
Those new PvP systems will definitely encourage griefing. There is nothing more to say in that matter. Griefers will be able to grief without any consequences.

But then I read so many comments about PA killing the interractions between players by implementing more Marni hours. And this is the moment when I will ask: What interractions?
I don't know, maybe it is just my personal experience, but throughout all those years, the only positive interractions I've had were with my guilds. The bad ones?
+ I was killed while being AFK on my horse
+ Got killed while peacefully farming cooking materials
+ Got killed by a red player out in the wilds out of the blue and when asked for the reason, I've been told they enjoy doing it. And they are bored as well
+ Was fed to mobs and lost crystals, again, without any reason (and before you ask, I detest griefing and I always respect the rule that is DFS). Again, for the fun and sick pleasure of the player who killed me
+ Been told to get a cancer after I managed to get my first T10
+ Got insulted in at least 25 different ways while trying to promote my guild

And the list could go on and on. This isn't me whining. This is just me providing my experience with 'player interraction' in this game so far. I have played quite the number of games with PvP, but I have never felt threatened by a dot on the map like on BDO. Because everytime I see another player I ask myself: "Will they just pass by or flag and kill me straight away?"

And then I read the comments regarding killing the interractions between us. The problem is, this game breeds very bad behaviour between players. Because that is how this game is designed. You either stomp on others or you get stomped.

Let us face it - BDO has an extremely toxic community. And I am glad J has finally addressed it. At the end of the day, I just want to play the game in peace, at pace I choose to. Marni changes will allow me to do so.
As for the PvP changes, again, this is a double edged sword. It will discourage people from harassing others, but at the same time encourage griefing. It is a hard thing to balance. Is it doable though?
It doesn't change the fact PvP players shouldn't be pushed aside. This is their way of playing this game and I fully understand and respect it. Adding more Arsha servers could definitely scratch that itch of theirs.
As much as I avoid PvP as often as I can, I always try to listen to both sides. And as one person said here on the forum - PvP players are a big part of this community. And not all of them are those who harass others. They also grind, like us lifeskillers and they want to have the right tools to defend their spot against griefers. We cannot put everyone into one bag.
Unfortunately, at the end of the day, it is really hard to cater all the players. Some will be thrilled with those changes, others not.
The real question is - how many of them will throw the towel if they actually come to life?
Both PvPers and non-PvPers are the lifeblood of this game. And if one side decides to quit, BDO will slowly begin to wither and may eventually die. This is the nature of MMORPGs.

Whatever happens, I hope PA will find a middle ground for all of this. Me, as a player, am personally asking for better solutions regarding toxic behaviour, not clipping the wings of PvPers. We all want to continue enjoying this amazing game, in one way or another. Doesn't matter what content we like, as long as it doesn't lead to harassment, shouldn't be taken away from us like that.

And before you call me a Carebear - again, I do not mind PvP as long as it is fair. I respect DFS. If I lose, I get up, say 'good fight' and move on. I accept defeat as long as there is respect maintained between me and the person I fight.
But if I get harassed continously out in the open world while lifeskilling, this is when I say 'enough'.

Healthy PvP should always be encouraged. It is a vital part of this game, just like PvE is. Pure harassment and toxic behaviour? Not so much. And it has lead to plenty of my friends leaving BDO because of those.

So to end my essay here - whatever happens, I hope BDO won't get much of a hit when it comes to number of players after those changes and it will continue to be an enjoyable experience while some of its negative aspects are removed.

All in all, we log on BDO to have fun there. And it should remain that way.
Peace! o/

I dont think it's going to be a night and day shift to the population. I think these changes will be more akin to a cancer diagnosis that causes the game to decay to death over 1 to 2 years.

People need to feel invested to stay. Investment in a game requires work, and often a community.

Portioning people off in thier own private marni realms to grind alone harms community interactions

Family karma and 2 way dec requirements are the last nails into the coffin of pvp, one of the last holdouts for player investment.

I had somebody flag on me two days while running down the road trying to complete the LoML quests. So I swapped servers and within 20 seconds someone else did it again. How am I suppossed to enjoy myself when people gotta be so toxic? Why would anyone feel it necessary to flag up on someone who is trying to complete a quest??????????

Old player who has maids pets tent etc must quit

New players has a lot things to buy in pearl shop

this is the logic od PA now

Nah, as a player with 97 maids, full Family inventory and Family weight, practically maxed out pearl shop worker lodgings, and like a average of 2 pearl shop outfits on each of my 30 characters. Changes like these make me feel more hopeful for the game, and it's health down the road. Which convinces me to spend and play even more.

How do you not understand this helps the griefers that karma bomb. People don't want to just go to Arsha where its a free for all, and no one grinds effeciently. And before you say swap channels, great you just landed into another channel that might possible have another guy that will karma bomb you, because ALL THEIR REPERCUSSIONS ARE TAKEN AWAY. Karma bombers already had an advantage, and our one main source of detourant is getting removed???

How to tell us that you don't actually grind on Arsha without telling us you don't grind on Arsha.

Most of my time on Arsha is very relaxed and effecient, as long as am not looking for trouble. Sure someone might come and kill me every so here and there. But most case those people will kill me 3 or 4 times and get bored and move to another grind zone. I personal do the same thing time to time on Arsha.

And far as Seasonal PvP channels goes, the reason I can compete season pass with full PEN Tuvala in an average of less than 8 hours. Is because my seasonal character don't touch the non PvP seasonal channels unless I want to do Rift Echos. Because 7 times out of 10 the Seasonal PvP channel has very low playercount. Meaning I can grind decent spots without much hassle if any at all.

ok since it's along post lets address the bullshit here !
Veteran here a pvp addict !
1-I was killed while being AFK on my horse : your fault there is safe places to train your horses and there is non arsha region ! if the guy did it with intend to make your experience worse you should tell that to your guild officers ! i know i dealt with me and made them get kicked from their guild or disbanded their guild from the constant hunting ! my advice join better guild and dont go afk on horse unless u r in safe place like inside a city

2-Got killed while peacefully farming cooking materials ! ok thats funny to hear :D pretty sure who killed you gained so much karma from it ! there is a solution to use lvl 49 character to not be touched at all.

3-Got killed by a red player ! in good guild they have black list section for red players names ! also there is an advanced system to call out which channel and location to hunt him ! my guild always find them and hunt them ! we have 0 problem with this and never heard most guilds complain about this at all ! red players so rare to find and when they know you in a good pvp guild it's the end of that player guild ! unless you are in arsha channel ! also,  reason why u see them guildless cuz their guild disbanded from constant hunting ,that they cant recruit more players ! it's the most fun thing to do in bdo to be honest ! chasing those red players and downgrade them to rage them hard xD and teach them a lesson !

4-Was fed to mobs and lost crystals, again, without any reason ! now you know without declaring system how it feels ! the more i read about ur experience the more i know ur guild is really bad on protecting its members from griefers !

5-Been told to get a cancer after I managed to get my first T10 ! easy solution ! screenshot the name and the comment  > open ticket and report > 100% he will get ban/muted ( we all use it ) and they are GMs in group chat you can easily report them and instantly they get ban.

6-Got insulted in at least 25 different ways while trying to promote my guild ! Again report them ! easy fix. there are tools to deal with toxicity.dont know why you love to complain instead of using the tools to fix the community.

but all these bad experiences you faced, because how restricted  bdo has become by devs  ! the new changes will increase the toxicity and greifing and we cant do anything about it sadly !

What you call 'bullshit', I call my personal experience with red players.
And you have made quite the huge assumption by saying I didn't try to do anything about the toxic behaviour I saw, DraconicRoar.

But fine, since you want to play "Let us call out the bullshit' game, which you apparently have done in quite the few posts here, let us do it.

Why non-pvp players have to be huddled up in cities to train horses?
Why are we forced to join huge guilds for protection, if some of us prefer more solitary type of gameplay?
Why do we have to remain level 49 or create alts to farm peacefully? I am personally not into alts, I do all things on my main.

What you call fun doesn't mean has to be fun for me. And vice versa.
If you have read my post carefully, you could have seen I respect PvPers and their playstyle.
What I do not support is toxic behaviour and ruining other players gaming sessions for the sake of seeing them rage. And this is the point where I am happy with the change. Because it will make a player think twice before killing another one for 'fun'.

Did I say all of those changes are good for the game? Do I praise them completely and blindly? No.
What I did was sharing my experience with the current system and hopes for it to improve.

You want to head out there and kill everything. Good for you.
But the moment I mention I want to play in peace and not bother anyone/be bothered, you call it out as bullshit.

So the way I see it, this change makes the people like you froth at their mouth, only because you are not capable of understanding andgetting  into the shoes of people like me. Your PvP playstyle is good. Chasing other players down is enjoyable. And I can bet on everything you are max geared and can stand up for yourself. But not everyone can. And won't be able for a good while.

"Red players are hard to find."
There are literally red player guilds, which encourage their members to stay red (or even worse, it is a requirement to join and remain in them). I am not sure where you spend most of your time, but take a good look around. Outskirts of Heidel or Velia. World Bosses. This is where the bodies pile up the most. The bodies of people who want to train their horses during the day/ overnight only to get killed while they are asleep and have no means to defend themselves, wasting their time.
And please, don't start on "You should train in cities.". We all know it is much better for horse EXP to train in certain spots outside them.

But sure, let the huddling up policy continue, along with the toxicity!
