Personally i am not someone that rejects PvP in fact PvP is one of my interests even if it could be better than what it is but then again i shouldn't base my view about it on AoS. With all the pros/ cons etc. there is PvP that is great in this game no doubt.
However i like to do all content when i choose so. Reasons: Work/ Real Life/ other hobbies so i don't spend most of my day gaming anymore.
So the ''Feature'' of being able to choose a Private Instance to get the silver and drops i require is a great Quality of Life improvement.
That's how i see it and this ''Practicality'' eliminates all other concerns in my head. Why?
Because Grinding is Solo anyway and we only do it for the Drops/ Silver to progress further so the most important technical part of grinding is ''Efficiency'' and since grind is Solo anyway and the only ''Multiplayer Activity'' we have with each other is PvP/ Bosses, Private Spot Instances don't interfer with any Multiplayer Aspect.
Exceptions are those who like ''Encounters'' such as ''Duel for Spot'' or even the ''Immersion of running up to another guy'' but don't like the Karma System which interfers with their preferences.
But ''Arsha exists'' so even these players have an entire Server which pretty much lives up to their expectations.
So a question remains. Why do they dislike Arsha? Why don't they enter the Server? Too contested? Lets say some places might be frequently they could always ask for Extra Servers like Arsha. Maybe turn the 6th Channels into free open world pvp. They never do though.
My conclusion is that the only PvP they enjoy is laying traps outside Heidel on AFK Horsetrainers and search for Grinders to ruin their fun because thats fun for them. So my cold logic conclusion is:
Marni is Great, Marni is the Best!
Well said I grind to make money not PVP . If I wanted a combined experience arsha exists. If I'm in the mood for PVP there's lots of options in the game that is not forced on you and you do because you want to do it. This is how it should be. This is not the same game from 2016 this is not too guilds dominating and preventing smaller guilds from even catching up in gear because yes that is how bdo once was. Litterally remember walking up to kzarka shrine or catfish and being met with a guild basically saying I can't be here. That's not bdo anymore and you people need to learn forced pvp is why games eventually fail. Look at old new world, look at mortal online that are not popular and there's a reason for that.

Just pointing out that despite this being a fairly common opinion it's not really true. Ever since Joshstrifehayes did his video on the topic I've heard people parrot this same line quite a lot despire there being several healthy games that disproove it. These are just the major examples by the way. Not even counting the number of games running on private servers for various games that have open pvp rules. (lineage for example)

So an album cant be good if it isnt quad platnum?
A movie cannot be good unless it is a mega blockbuster?
Eve online is actually a larger game than BDO.
so ..where are we drawing the line of success?
I think as long as the game is profitable and makes its players happy it should be a success wether it has 30k players or 3 million players.
