Suggestions/Comments:
There's going to be alot of forum posts like this, but I haven't seen any with a broader view of changes the game might benefit from receiving, and I have my own thoughts I'd like to share. If you don't want to read all of my thoughts, my propositions will be at the bottom.
The changes proposed from the KR website's letter are:
1) Karma (and the associated detriments of Negative Karma) being applied family wide
2) Marni Realms being available every-other hour for 12 hours within a 24 hour period total
3) Server swap cooldown being reduced from 10 minutes to 5 minutes
4) Guild War Declaractions requiring mutual agreement in order to start

The three obvious large topics are: Karma and Griefing, Player Interaction in an Open World, and Solicited PVP Content. I'll approach these in order.

Once Again, I ran into the issue of the website not allowing me to post this thread, so I took screenshots of what I had written. Again. Fix website pls?

Please take your time to actually read my suggestions instead of seeing something you don't like and immediately downvote this. Really think and read how and why I am suggesting something.

What about someone like me who avoids others' rotations and gets killed because I won't leave upon getting killed?  I don't think your ideas are necessarily bad, but this is a 2 way street

In that case you're not actually avoiding the rotation if they feel like they have to kill you again, because you won't leave the rotation. This sounds like you're actively engaging in passive-aggressive griefing of the area at that point, possibly out of spite for being killed the first time. It is rare for someone to simply kill someone as they are passing through the rotation, unless you're attacking and killing things as you pass through. Even more rare for them to continue killing you after the first time, if you're still avoiding the rotation, unless you said something offensive to them after being killed the first time.

In regards to the main post, this is pretty good.

Yes, I am.  I avoid others' rotations.  If I am there first. and someone shows up, I politely let them know how long I will be.  If they grind over me, I ignore them.  If they flag, then I fight and keep them flagged until they leave.  So, you are wrong.  I am not griefing anyone.  I have a right to defend myself.  If they are stupid enough to flag on me, and waste their time, that's their choice, not mine.

"Avoids other's rotations."

"I wont leave."

Make it make sense to me.

Family Based Gearscore is a good solution.
The karma scaling with killspeed is not a good choice, because it incentivices running it down.
Progressive punishment is also fine i guess, but including lightstones is questionable. Maximum dura punishment is a good idea.

Unfortunately, none of this will change the fact that killing a player does not give you an efficient spot. The simple solution is to increase respawn timers or make it more difficult to get back to the spot quickly. Killing a player should get you at least some grind time back...

I have maybe a low view of people's reactions but I dont think any change based around how many kills you get before your karma is empty is going to matter. At the end of the day the guy who was going to take off hsi gear is doing that because he knows that you only have so many kills in your tank and then he gets his spot. Wether thats 2 kills because he can strip out of his gear or 20 kills with his gear being calculated in his inventory and us having a larger resoirvoir of karma to draw from. The fundamental relationship does not change. Player A loses nothing from dying, player B does lose something for killing him.

If killing a player has a cost then dying to a player must also have a cost. Otherwise you will never escape the system we have currently where bodythrowing characters have an advantage.

Hello first of all I really like your post.
I am red player and in the end the changes do not really effect me. The only thing that happens is that my other Charakters will be red too, but this will be no big deal after I learned how to survive in citys by placing myself in the dead spots of the guard to interact with the npc's over mousemovement. I really think that the karma system should be rework, for example one of my ideas would be to set the lowest karma down to -1b. That is easy to reach but to get back to normal it really takes you time, instead of grinding an hour at pollys you will need mutch more time then bevor. I don't think that grinding should be the only way to obtain karma back, I would recommend quests where you have to trade a specific amount of trashloot against karma. I really like the idea because if you get penalized for destroying someones grinde you have to pay with the porfit you would make while grinding by yourself (but this only works if the karmasystem works korrekt). Now to the penalty's for being red. After more and more players reach the endgame kristals make a big difference. It is sad that I will always have a big disadvantage against many others, even I have choose this way to play. I would say, to also create more content for reds, that you still lose crystals and that they protect the gear but there will be a very rare item that can be used not on a crystal slot only on a crystal them self to prevent it from shattering in PvP death.

This item can be obtained through questlines, dayly or weakly quest. In these quest you have to kill a specific amount of payers like 1k for example to obtain a rng box where you have a low chance of getting the  item. If the item is connected with the crystal, the crystal can't be sold anymore unless you deconnect the item. If you do that the protection item will be destroyed and have to be regained. This also happens if you go back to positiv karma. This system allows people who are only a short time red to give them the full penalty's and also will let permanent red players have a chance to participate in endgame pvp without a big disadvantages. Another idea I like is the idea of a questline you can start at -1b karma that will lock your character for ever in negative karma and will be permanently and of course I would love to see more red city's and maybe some other content for red players. This is just an idea to the topic and can be worked out more. But in the end I don't think that even if we all have good ideas to fix and overwork the karmasystem, PA will be advice rest instant as always.

Funny I ran into a guildy of your recently.  He said that you are constantly talking in guild chat that you are going to go mess with this rotation or that rotation.  Apparently according to him you get a kick out of it.  Your guild is talking about disbanding and forming it's own guild because you are such a tool.  His words not mine.

How is it that you have some really nice people in  your guild and then there is you, a total.... ?
