Inherrently I don't think a war dec is harrassment. I think it only becomes harrassment when someone goes hunting on a regular basis which is easily proven many different ways. For instance if you get killed in open world and then swap servers but then are found by that same person a few minutes later, that is harrassment. That is abusing an in-game mechanic to stop someone's gameplay.
It's already been said, but worth repeating that a system to forcibly remove a war dec after some sort of period of time say 2-6 hours after the dec goes up and one side drops it. Then let's say you get a 24-72 hour or something cd where that guild can't dec you again. THAT system makes sense. THAT system could still be used to combat a griefer (at least temporarily) while preventing long-term harrassment of weaker guilds. Granted NW guilds still get shafted because if they own a node they can't dec a guild not ready for war unless that guild has an outgoing dec.
that would be better than what we have now! I have a stalker who has decced my guild since last december. His only purpose is to harass us. 740 GS sorc. Evasion build

Curious It's been a month and the changes aren't wholly applied to NA/EU yet. I wonder if they're holding off until the community stops boiling over as much? Maybe there's better changes on the horizon, idk

Could we resurrect this post, please? I feel like the majority of people who commented lost the point of the post & the discussion it was trying to create, instead bickering amongst themselves. That is not what I wanted to foster, though I can't say I'm surprised either.
As a few things I would like to add as an addendum/alteration;
-After thinking about it, I don't think XP should be lost upon death while negative karma. XP Loss is just annoying to those who care, and those who care are likely not PVPers anyway.
-Karma Lost should not scale with the duration of the engagement, but a similar solution should still be found. Farming people at node is not engaging for the person farming nor the person getting farmed.
-To re-iterate, Karma-bombing needs to be removed from the game for open world PVP to ever be interesting again. The detriments of karma remain far too strong, and being a red player is still not a supported playstyle even though it very easily could be.

), but you must remember. God emperor J says only peace on his server. Anything relating to OWPVP, including Karma reworks (needed, IMO), goes against god emperor lod J's wishes of peace on his servers.
If karma were working well, then mob feeding could be removed. I think removing mob feeding is a good idea, overall. I also like the idea of group grinding to be a viable option, at any grind zone. I miss OWPVP, but it's dead, bro. PVP is dead and will die even more before peace on emperor god lord J's servers gets interrupted. The best we can hope for, IMO, is good instanced PVP. 10v10 Crews was content I was looking forward to from last CAlpheon Ball. Scrapped. Battle of Thornwood Castle? That PVEVP mode? Scrapped. War of Roses? That impossible 300v300 lag fest? LOL KR players abandoned it and PA cancelled their first one.
PVP is dead, my man. It's a sad, sad day to be a BDO player. Just get your new boot and new artifcat like a good boi.
