Bartering Mastery idea

I don't know if someone has suggested it, but this crossed my mind the other day. I ran it by a few sailors in my guild and they liked the idea. It's a pretty simple idea, but the results of it can drastically speed up the process of making ships and also make something like the Nol more obtainable. More on that in a bit.

The original idea I thought of for Bartering Mastery was the following: For every 50 Mastery, on every barter get 1 crow coin.

That doesn't sound like a lot to those that don't barter, but consider a few scenerios before replying.

Scenerio 1: New player to bartering. . .

In this scenerio, you've just started out and have very little in terms of mastery. Maybe you're a totally new player, or just don't own any mastery items. You've looked up a guide and had some guildies help you with the details on how to get started. You start bartering and then hit a barter level that finally pushes you over 50 Mastery. Now, every time you do a land to level 1 trade, you're getting 1 crow coin a trade up.

For beginners and those just starting with bartering, its a good idea to at the very least do just the level ones. With 1 million parley, you can do somewhere around 80 trades per refresh. If you do one normal refresh and one instant refresh a day, you're looking at a new player with 50 mastery getting 240 crow coins a day. Is that going to break the game? No, but its definitely a good start for a new player and might even incentivise them to start getting lifeskill mastery items so they can get more coins, once they realize what they're for. That said, new sailors aren't going to hit that full 80 barter count right away. For me, when I started, I just did land materials to level 1's close to velia. That was maybe two or three nodes. That's about 90 coins a day, realistically at 3 nodes per refresh.

Scenerio 2: Veteran player, beginner barterer. . .

In this scenerio, we have someone who's been playing the game long enough to know how cheap some lifeskill gear is, and maybe even has some TET Loggia accessories, the free TRI manos accessory and, well, to be frank, lets just use my lifeskill gear here for example purpose. I got TRI blue sailors armor and TET loggia accessories, the free manos and a tri manos. That's 458 - assuming that the sailors clothes translate to barterer's clothes if they existed. We're gonna stick with this as a beginner sailor. This means that a new barterer with my lifeskill gear would get 9 crow coins per barter.

Assuming the same 80 per refresh as before, and two refreshes a day, we're looking at a whopping 2160 coins a day for a veteran starting out on bartering.

Now that doesn't seem like a lot to those playing, but a guaranteed 2160 coins a day at beginner level bartering is an insane amount of coins.

Scenerio 3: That one sailor in your guild that has a stupid amount of mastery and barters daily. . .

My advisor has upwards of somewhere 1500 mastery before buffs. I'm just going to use 1500 for this one because that's a ton of mastery, plus going full 2000 isn't going to be a lot different. I'm also going to use my 11k parlay per barter here - but this guy would be a lot better off considering he's got a lot more barter levels on me. In this scenerio, he's doing three refreshes - waiting resets to naturally appear, getting essentially 4 havoken runs out of it. His ship is fast enough to make the runs very quick, so he just waits for good havoken coin runs and refills barter stock - selling off excess in the mean time. In this scenerio, we're also going to assume he gets all the barters off and the 250k parley crow coupon off. That's about 383(90+90+90+113) barters a day - though I'm wondering about my math here, but w.e lets just go with this.

Assuming 383 barters, at (1500 ÷ 50) coins per barter(30 coins per barter), he's looking at 11,490 crow coins from just bartering a day. This is where the big gains would come from. We're taking about getting a khan's concentrated magic in 8 days of basically full time bartering. Remember when I said we'd come back to the Nol? Now is that time. We're also looking at, based off current price, the fully finished Nol to be obtainable in 175 days. That's a huge impovement over the 1 year, if not more depending on how RNG the crow coin gain is. It would be guaranteed in 175 days.

That said, I'd be okay with them increasing the coin cost of the Nol if this bartering mastery idea existed. Gotta keep treasure items rare afterall lol

All of this said, 30 coins per barter is a lot(though it would go a long freaking way to make lifeskilling worth it silver-wise). A few ways they could balance this could be the following:

1. Instead of 1 coin per 50 mastery, they could do 1 coin per 100 mastery. Basically reduce all the coin gains above by half and you'd still see an improvement in the lifeskill, while still maintaining some rarety on the items from the shop.

2. Cap coin gain per barter to 1000 mastery. this would mean 20 coins per barter, which is a hell of a lot more coins to be gaining, but we're not looking at 11k a day. lol

3. Both 1 and 2, effectively making it 10 coins per barter at 1000 mastery, further balancing it out. The 1000 mastery idea came to mind based off of hunting and how 901 mastery is the last mastery bracket for rifles and matchlocks.

The reason this popped into my head was based off of how daunting its been to try and push crow coins while going for the new boat. I've been, for the most part, going at it basically since Land of the Morning Light released, and I've managed 56k crow coins as of right now(in the middle of doing my barter runs while writing this out). I've got 44k coins to go before I have all the coins needed for just the boat, then another 40k for the green gear, and who knows how many for the blue gear later. This, for me who doesn't have a carrack, is going to take actual months of bartering. While I know I will do it, it had me thinking of ways to improve the gameplay of bartering, and this is what I thought of. Smarter people than I could further balance it, but I honestly think option 3 would be the best to introduce the concept of coins per barter into BDO.
