No one forces you to flag yourself and kill someone. If you're so well geared that you can easily kill them, you can easily outgrind them too and they'll get bored and leave.

 

Alternatively, play on Arsha.

I personally don't gank much, but I do enjoy getting ganked. What I personally do has no bearing on the fact that players are incentivized to die in a pvp setting rather than flee, and players that would otherwise pvp are incentivized to have mobs kill for them.

 

 Mob feeding and intentionally dying in pvp are the current state of equilibrium, and it's all due to the very stupidly designed karma system. If players are going to fight, let them fight rather than search for workarounds to systems that perversely encourage them to die or perversely encourage them to not win.

 

 Nobody is a pve player past 49, so we have the luxury of looking into pvp systems to fix pvp problems. The perverse incentive Olympics isn't necessary, and actually causes a hell of a lot more drama than just fights of consequence would.

Without any sort of deterrent against random killings, newbies straight off the boat would get absolutely nowhere. They disabled PvP on noob servers for a reason.

 

Don't flag yourself, stpo pulling mobs if you see someone hanging around and you won't get "karmabombed" or fed to mobs.

The issue here lies in the first sentence. It's nothing personal and I'd rather not to attack a poster, but instead - the idea. Let me elaborate:

"I enoy something so I think the system must be changed so that others have to do the same thing" is flawed.

 

Forcing many to change for the benefits of the few is always a bad choice. Especially on this matter, since as other pointed out above - there is a viable alternative.

 

In my 5 years expecience of being around here, not even a single time the complainer about PvP system was considering Arsha as an option. Because they don't want PvP. They want to farm lower geared players and have little to no penalty for doing so. I do not claim my experience to be conclusive, but I find it consistent with the statement I made.

I can see you've become so blinded by rage of gankers you attribute anyone contesting the poor design of the system as a ganker. I'll say once again: I enjoy being attacked more than attacking. 

I'll also say again: it's better we have direct systems in place for players to contest spots, rather than incentivize pissing matches between who dies most or who feeds to mobs best. BOTH perverse incentives (karmabombing, mob feeding) are stupid, especially when put together. The game breaks and it's a slap fight over nothing other than who is more willing to waste time to be a dick.

 

 New player protections are important, but there are no pve players past 49. Perhaps seasons were put on pause because they were failing to teach players how we do things here, and giving them unreasonable expectations of the game. I wonder if we'll see the new bounty system before seasons return, this time with no pure pve option.

I've enjoyed my own time on Arsha. It's a great place to hop over to for fun, but its existence doesn't fix the issues I've described with the perverse incentives of pk in this game encouraging far more toxicity than just plain old pk and gvg would. 

When you see players equipping worthless crystals and leaving their guilds so they can take better advantage of that perversely designed system, that's an excellent indicator the system needs a rework. And that's exactly what some hardline players are doing.

Nice strawmanning ther chief. I've been killed 2 times in the last month, both times after refusing a duel, neither time did I go back to karmabomb. I could give less of a shit about dying.

 

Again, there is a direct system, it's called Arsha.

Yes, I agree with this. I mean it worked in FFXIV. Maybe it's time BDO do the same. By rounding all these types of players up. And locked them all to a group of channels that they can't swap out of.

 

I mean they don't want to play with us, to the point they are demanding us to quit the game. And we don't want to play with them, to the point quite a few are requesting PvE only servers. So it seems like the sensible thing to do.

They did remove it, it's called Arsha.

 

Not enough room on Arsha for more than a handful of people.  There needs to be a penalty for repeated deaths in PvP, to offset the Karma loss people suffer.  If I gotta go red to get rid of some troll, they should lose XP, have rez sickness, or an increasing death timer.

Why should they change the system when you can already opt out of the system by playing on the Arsha servers? It makes no sense to complain about Karma losses and Karmebombing WHEN YOU CAN JUST PLAY ON THE PVP SERVER, IT'S WHAT IT'S THERE FOR.

 

Not Enough Room On Arsha.

 

For zero karma servers to be viable there needs to be atleast a dozen Arsha Karma System servers.

If bosses spawned on Arsha, I wouldn't leave.  World and Field bosses do not spawn on Arsha.
