On longer trips I like to hold down the w and shift key for my boat movement, it is much faster than using the auto function to travel. The auto path gets stuck many times so I dont like to use it much when going from Illya to Port E.
the constant starting and stopping every min is annoying and slower now. I thought the new system to prevent afk hunting was if you were standing in one place. Looks like it is messed up when using boats now.
Set your waypoint press T, within the first half a second after pressing T press A or D it will break the auto path route you will travel in a straight line while still having your waypoint visible in the distance.
If you then click the auto use breezy sails you can then just use your mouse to turn and no longer need to press W+Shift.
Not perfect but it's a work around until PA realizes their bandaid process of not banning the AFK grinders wasn't going to work.
Why not just use auto breezy? You don't have to hold w for that.

manually steering is faster than pressing T and letting the game auto path. This necessitates pressing and holding W even if you have auto breezy turned on.
DumpstrWizard, thanks for the tip.
Junie using auto breezy with the auto path or the steps above that Dumpstr suggest is much slower regen. If you use w+shift the breezy regens much faster so you can use if more often. You can test this buy setting waypoint then clicking the continusly use breezy and watch how the regen to next use is much slower that if you used the same waypoint and used w+shift.
the silly part, only players this will punish are active ppl. Scripters and botters just add 1 additional line and back to how it was XD

Don't use auto path. Press w and shift with auto breezy enabled until it does its first breezy and then let go. It will continue moving forward, letting you steer with your mouse, and be just as fast as you sitting there holding 'w'.

I'm not suggesting to use autopath. The breezy stamina regens at the normal rate if you just turn on auto breezy and let go of w+shift after holding it long enough to trigger a single breezy.
Junie, Thanks for the info, I tried it out and it works! So nice not having to hold the keys down now!!
