New area for Marni zone in Manshaum forest is... bad.

The area before the 16/08 patch was perfectly fine, with good layout of monsters spawns and decently sized area - the same cannot be said about the new area which is also triggered for entering too far into the forest unlike the previous one which could be entered near Viverza npc.

Same goes with new Centaur marni... I don't know if they are trolling us but it is just down right disaster. Old centaur marni was bad already but somehow the new one is even worse. 

Also someone remind me, did old Kratuga marni have 2 rooms or did it always have 1 room? Well it has this one tiny room in Kratuga and I can tell they removed 2 spawns from it LOL... what are they doing?!

Maybe they're tweaking Marni spots so that there's a drawback in using them and being 100% protected against owpvp ? 

Basically this.  Altho I personally think the Marni realm should be removed completely, it is a bad bandaid to a bigger problem.  The Marni realm is the lazy way out of disincentivizing group content while promoting solo conflict driven content for 7 years prior to the marni realm release.  For 7 years grind spots were designed to promote conflict, then PA does a 180 degree turn claiming the conflict is bad after stating that they designed the spots to promote conflict within the game.  

I think there should be a 50% reduction in trash loot or something in the marni realm.  It is only logical since there is a bonus for grinding on Arsha even tho I think that bonus should be removed, and they should find another way to promote Arsha activity, such as bringing back the Tournament of Arsha from a few years back, where Kills on Arsha Server were tracked giving a reward at the end of the month.  

I think it would be sad to punish people who simply want to be left alone.  I hope that's not true.  I mean they already reward people who go to arsha, why punish people on the other side?  

I think it might be hard for you to grasp but there are indeed alot of players who love this game to the bone but absolutely despise the toxic culture that comes with pve grinding. Not everyone is out there looking for conflict, not everyone even likes PvP but like I said, and it might be very hard to believe, people can really love this game but hate PvP. Honestly I do not mind fighting for spots (you know, actually have a real duel and not just get griefed) if the people were in my gear level. This is mostly not the case as the spots that I grind (usually 170-250 AP zones) are filled with outgeared people in their 280's and higher AP ranges and I literally never stand a chance against those people.

I also occasionally PvE in Arsha servers and when I do get killed over and over, I dont complain. I understand the risk I took when I went there. So we have that option. Same way as people deserve an option (Marni in this case) to just take an hour off their day and grind in absolute peace because trust me when I say, there is alot of players who have more in their life than just this game and when they boot the game up, the last thing they need is grief fights with other people.

And if I may ask you, what is the bigger problem that the Marni realm servers as a bandaid to? The fact that this game is solo-oriented?

This was problem from vanila release and they still didnt fix it. I never understand why is so low amount of monsters on grind spots in such as huge world. The respawn timers are still pretty bad, they need to increase by 3x at least and add more monsters to grind spots. 

They did some improvements but not enough and in snail pace. Season server at start is unplayable there is no room to grind at all. They even funnel everyone to same grind spots to grind the tuvala crafting stuff. Big brain you have to be to not see the problem in this. 

Viisakas post above illustrates my view regarding grind spots and PvP engagements - considering this is a inf pot spot makes it worse with contesting events.

I use my daily 1h Marni time to grind pot piece in peace with no interruptions, since drop chances are bad already and not to spend my time engaging in a constant DFS/YFS or PK - i'd be in Arsha for that instead. Trash loot is already bad in pot piece areas so i don't know what reducing trash loot even further would accomplish if not demotivate players of grinding given the rng involved.

The thread was to discuss Marni replacement areas, not if Marni system is good or not for the game but anyway...

They're still part of a whole system, so you can't tweak them without looking at the bigger picture.
