Suggestions:
I will preface this by saying that I understand the reasons for the current restrictions on the character tagging system (no selling of trade goods/ no character transport), but more often than not those restrictions end up making it more of an inconvenience to use than anything.
Especially when you have 2 conflicting events ongoing like right now:

Ready to reel in Pufferfish!
I am sure that I am not the only person in the whole game whose main character is also the one with the highest fishing mastery. So if choose to take advantage of the character tagging event, I cannot participate the fishing event because I cannot sell the fish! And vice versa. You also have no idea how inconvenient it is to not be able to transport tagged characters. Aside from fishing for the occasional event, I never trade!
If you want to stop people from exploiting the character tagging system for trading, why not restrict it to those specific situations? i.e. if someone has a wagon/mount with trade items in it, they are not allowed to switch to a tagged character until they complete the trade run and sell all their trade goods? This way, the rest of us who don't care about the trading lifeskill can continue to enjoy the game without restrictions on our tagged characters.

And we are not the first ones, many players have suggested solutions, and especially THAT solution you're mentionning.
I wonder why PA still does nothing about it, when the correct solution is so simple.......
It's a real problem and they don't consider it. They should change that now.

Just remove trading from this game and we can solve 90% of restrictions with transport characters, with horses, with tags, with guild tp etc..
If you take more than 7 years to solve an inconvenient so.. just remove it
