I think the update is not that bad. If they just rework karma to take some less karma if you want to kill some hard learning griefer a few more times before going red.
But that's not going to happen. :D

I've never needed to flag up to keep grinding. If people wander into my area, I say hello and how long I plan to stay. If they keep grinding, I simply outgrind them.

If you enjoy running in circles for hours on end to run in more circles with different colours for hours on end then this game is for you, if you enjoy pvp or want a reason to be stronger through gear in pvp this isnt the game for you anymore and its been slowly killed off for the longest time.
Nothing more true than that! It's what PA is making of this game, running in circle.....

As I said in previous posts I am on the fence with this.
Your right NOT all Pvper's are disruptive Asshats.
There are certain Problem Children on boths sides of this equation that we are referring to.
On one side most will still ask for Dual For Spot, some will still refuse others will still bully and some will still take off gear and Karma Bomb.
Open World PvP is STILL there. You can still Flag, you can still PK, you can still feed to mobs and you can still lose gems... go Red lose gems as well as Karma Bomb.
The only issue this stops is entire guilds freeloading on a weaker guilds with less players to zerg them away from grind spots<----- this is current meta.
Forcing mutual decs is a way to ensure 2 guilds of equal strength or better Pvper's on who in fact is stronger.
But again EVERY aspect of Open World is still intact NOW you will have to make a choice instead of decing are you a strong enough 1v1 player against another or are you a sissy and have to have for 10 of your buddies to help you.... I guess we will see what type of player you are cuz I promise you this I been going at it alone for 6 years in almost 90% of my fights I have no problem going Red or do I have any issue with accepting a dual.
So both sides really need to stop the doom and gloom the game is not ending nore is Pvp.
Mutual decs will be one of the rarest things to happen in the game. Every once in awhile you will have two guilds come together and organize a GW. Organic wars were one of the funnest things in the game, and happened regularly. A disagreement happens, someone opens up, mate calls his guild, the other guy calls his guild, you get a GW. You develop rivalry, and the wars are long running. This literally produced the most PvP in the game.
Single sided decs were also used to settling the score when things go sideways over things like siege deals, as one good example. It was literally a community tool, for community driven concepts and the ecosystem that developed through the years. The same kind of things that happen in games like EvE. It's what makes BDO unique and niche. Without it's niche I predict the playerbase will go into decline. They think this will be some kind of boost to gain the PVE crowd. But the PVE crowd doesn't cater to games like this. They want a WoW-esque mmorpg, this is a sandbox. We saw how the recent PVE wave fell completely off the map after like a month. This will be a net negative for BDO.

That's the thing though. I don't think that PA intended the decc system to be used to settle personal grievances or to punish people for things they post. I think that it's intended to allow people to deal with obnoxious overgrinders. Yet, this kind of bullying happens all the time. One of the pointless deccs on my guild is because "your recruiting messages are too gay!" While I don't agree with their drastic measures (I would have put time limits on one sided decs instead, with cooldowns), I don't think it's right for an entire guild to get griefed because one person in a stronger guild gets his feelings hurt lol. I think that the behavior you cite above is a prime reason for these changes. If you want to know whom to blame, look inside.
